Chapter 205
Aiden’s expression darkened slightly, a faint smile barely visible. “Have you ever?”
Valerie ducked her head slightly and said, “I was just trying to cheer Kelly up, okay?”
Aiden arched a brow slightly, his lips curling in a sardonic smile. “You sounded quite the expert to me,”
“Come on, it’s not like that…”
Kelly was on the verge of tears again.”
already this upset, and you two are still flirting right in front of me!”
Valerie was speechless.
She thought to herself, ‘What the hell? Flirting my ass!‘
She was absolutely terrified of what wild ideas Aiden might come up
next.
But even the slightest movement made Valerie’s waist ache as if it were about to break. She could only look at them with teary, pleading eyes, utterly helpless.
Aiden’s expression darkened. Without a word, he stood up and left.
Kelly cried her eyes out until she was exhausted, dozing off by Valerie’s bedside before Sariah finally dragged her away.
Valerie was exhausted. The IV medication not only eased her pain but also made her drowsy, and before she knew it, she had drifted off to sleep.
When Aiden returned, the fury still clung to him. But seeing Valerie peacefully asleep, his heart instantly softened. He leaned down, pressed a gentle kiss to her cheek, while his thumb traced feather–light strokes along her temple.
The next day, Valerie heard that Angelo was in the hospital.
Last night when Angelo got thrown out of the bar, he just took a beating and limped away, nothing bad enough for the hospital. But today, rumor had it he even ended up with several broken ribs, had cash thrown in his face, and was dumped at the hospital entrance.
Kelly was practically frantic when she heard the news and bolted to see him, but Valerie sharply stopped her. “Kelly, after everything he’s done to you, why on earth would you still want to go?”
Guilt flickered in Kelly’s eyes. “I…”
Valerie felt the frustration of seeing wasted potential for the first time. She was so mad she wanted to shake some sense into Kelly. “Angelo and Renata clearly knew each other long before you came along. I’d run into Angelo several times even before I met him through you. Renata probably sent him to mess with your feelings. How can you still not see it?”
In her previous life, Kelly was utterly ruined by Angelo. She lost everything, ended up pregnant, and Angelo had no intention of taking responsibility.
In the end, only because Kelly kept pestering him relentlessly, even threatening suicide, did Aiden resort to ruthless measures to force Angelo into
marriage.
But on the eve of their wedding, Kelly was shocked to catch Renata and Angelo locked in a passionate embrace.
Kelly’s pregnancy was already high–risk, and the emotional shock caused her to miscarry. Because treatment was delayed, she was le infertile, forever robbed of the chance to become a mother.

After she recovered, Kelly drowned her sorrows at a bar, only to be kidnapped by thugs Renata had paid off. The next morning, she was found dumped in the middle of nowhere, broken, covered in vomit and bruises, discarded like she was nothing.
Shortly after being found by the Walker family, she took her own life.

Chapter 205
Valerie hadn’t interacted much with Kelly in her previous life, but this time around, she was determined not to stand by and watch het repeat the res mistakes.
But Kelly clearly wasn’t listening to Valerie. She just mumbled vague replies. All she could think about was how Angelo was doing now.
Valerie finally snapped. “If you dare go, you’re betraying mel I should be in class right now, do you even realize why I’m stuck in this hospital bed? It’s because of you!”
Sure enough, guilt flickered in Kelly’s eyes. “Val…” she murmured.
Valerie softened her tone. “Promise me you’ll break up with him. Someone like him doesn’t deserve you at all.”
Tears welled up in Kelly’s eyes again, a sour pang twisting in her chest.
Kelly barely touched her food during the meal with Valerie, her mind clearly elsewhere. When she pretended to leave afterward, she couldn’t resist going to see Angelo.

To her surprise, the moment Kelly arrived at Angelo’s hospital room, she found Joanna Salinas inside, sobbing uncontrollably.
Joanna wiped away her tears and cried out, “This is outrageous! How could they beat you up like this? Shouldn’t you sue him? So what if he’s rich and powerful? Does that give him the right to beat people up like this?”
Angelo’s voice was weak. “Mom, we’re no match for him. That’s Aiden, we’d be fools to cross him.”
Kelly’s heart lurched as she heard the news.
She stared at Angelo, her mind reeling. ‘His injuries… were they really caused by my brother?‘
Three broken ribs, fractures in both his arms and legs, now he was wrapped up like a mummy.
“Kelly?” Angelo gasped weakly, his voice trembling with surprise.
Joanna spun around at the sound. The moment she saw Kelly, she erupted in fury. “Why are you even here? How dare you show your face! Isn’t it enough that you’ve already hurt my son this badly?”
Kelly panicked, her voice trembling. “No, it’s not like that…”
Angelo looked at her, his voice barely above a whisper, disappointment etched across his face. “Your brother had me beaten up like this… was it your doing?” He paused, his tone heavy with hurt. “I always thought you were a kind, innocent girl. I never imagined you could be so selfish… so cruel.”
Kelly shook her head frantically, her voice trembling. “No, no, it wasn’t me! It has nothing to do with me, I had no idea my brother would have someone
hurt you, I…”
“Stop with your phony act!” Joanna shoved her angrily. “How could you scratch up Renata’s beautiful face. She’s such a lovely girl! You’re absolutely
vicious!”
Kelly hurried to explain, her voice trembling, “Joanna, it’s not what you think…”
