Reborn From Oblivion (Nellie and Cameron) novel Chapter 1005

Morris reached out and squeezed her hand. Her fingertips were freezing, so he quickly tried to calm her down. “Hey, don’t worry. It’s no big deal.”

Nathalie had already moved Lizzy onto the bed. Even knowing Lizzy was just a robot, she couldn’t help but tuck her in gently, fussing over her with the same care she’d give anyone she loved.

Morris ran his fingers through Lizzy’s thick hair, found a small chip, and slipped it out. He dropped it into his wheelchair for a quick reset and upgrade.

While he worked, Nathalie sat nearby, chin propped up in her hands, watching him with a lost, anxious look.

When Morris finished, he popped the chip back into Lizzy’s head, then let out a relieved breath. He turned to Nathalie and said, “It was just a little hiccup in her reading program. Nothing serious. Once her temperature gets back to normal, you can hit the restart button. Your Lizzy will be back, good as new.”

The hopelessness in Nathalie’s eyes faded instantly. “That’s such a relief.”

But Morris was still curious. “Nathalie, do you have any idea what caused Lizzy’s reading glitch?”

Nathalie looked away, dodging his gaze. “Um…well…”

Morris caught on—clearly, this was a tricky one.

Vincent Estate.

The bodyguards came back to the estate looking worse for wear, faces and suits streaked with dust. They reported their failed pursuit of Morris, and the old matriarch’s calm, dignified face twisted in shock.

These four were the Sharp family’s top agents—surveillance experts, the best of the best.

“So how did you lose him?” she asked, clearly taken aback.
