"Hayden, did you put on some pain relief patches?" Jenny asked curiously.
"Yes, it's me! I must've been sitting wrong while reading, and my arm started hurting, so I put some pain relief patches on it." Hayden quickly made an excuse, not wanting to make his family worry.
Hearing this, no one questioned it and nodded.
Just as they were about to resume eating, the doorbell suddenly rang.
"I'll get it!" Jenny was always eager to help. She jumped up and rushed to the door.
At this time of day, it was usually just neighbors stopping by. However, when she opened the door, Jenny was greeted by two stunning faces. For a second, she thought she was seeing celebrities on TV!
"May I know who you're looking for?" Jenny asked softly, her surprise evident.
By now, Hayden and the Caldwell couple had heard the commotion and turned to look. Their expressions changed the moment they saw who was at the door.
They recognized these two women! It was the same pair they had met the day Hayden was brought back to the Sterling family—Anna and Julia!
"We're here to see Hayden. There's something we need to talk about," Anna answered.
Both Anna and Julia seemed uneasy, their expressions heavy with concern.
When Anna relayed what Stephanie had told her, Julia was visibly moved. She was deeply saddened and upset by what Hayden had gone through.
In the end, they decided to come and see Hayden, hoping to ask about his time living with the Sterling family. They also wanted to build a better relationship with him.
"What are you both doing here?" Hayden's face immediately darkened, his gaze turning cold as he stared at Anna and Julia.
"Hayden…" Serena and James hesitated, looking reluctant, especially Serena, who looked heartbroken as her tears threatened to spill over.
"You two troublemakers, leave our house now! You're not welcome here! Hayden is my brother, and he has nothing to do with you! Get out!" Jenny shouted angrily, and her frustration boiled over.
To her, anyone who tried to take Hayden away was the enemy!
Her outburst didn't sit well with Anna and Julia. They furrowed their brow as they were clearly displeased. As daughters of the prestigious Sterling family, they had never been threatened like this.
But just as they were about to speak, Hayden stepped in. "Did you hear that? I feel the same way. Get out of my house!"
With that, Hayden slammed the door shut with a loud bang.
