Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 158

"What?"

In that instant, everyone was wide-eyed with disbelief. They didn't expect Hayden to say something like that.

"Are you nuts? Even if you asked him to do it, Dr. Kray wouldn't agree to something like that. Why would he harm others for you? Do you really think you're all that important?" Francis roared angrily.

The rest of them hesitated before shooting unfriendly looks at Hayden.

How different was that from claiming that he would kill one of them?

Hayden remained calm as he sat there quietly.

What he said was indeed a little exaggerated. He couldn't guarantee that Wagner would listen to him.

Regardless, it wasn't Hayden's goal to kill Morgan anyway. He just wanted to expose Francis' true colors to everyone there. He wanted them to see what kind of choices Francis would make when it came to his family.

"Hayden, I'm really disappointed in you. I thought you were just trying to throw a tantrum, but I didn't know you'd be this heartless. Don't you realize that Lily's your sister and that Morgan's your brother too?" Julia reprimanded boldly, her face filled with anger.

She shook her head, her gaze filled with disappointment and sadness. She never once thought that Hayden would turn out like this.

"Hayden, it's one thing to mess around, but this is a life and death situation! How can you do this?" Anna scolded.

Deep in her heart, she was more convinced that the current Hayden wasn't the same Hayden as before. It was as though his mind was clouded by vengeance, and he was completely unrecognizable.

Charlotte covered her mouth as tears welled up in her eyes. To her, it felt as though her family was trying to kill one another. It brought her great pain.

However, no one knew just how many similar choices Hayden had had to make.

In his past life, Hayden had wanted to move back to live with his adoptive parents but was met with Francis' threats. If he dared to go back, Francis would make his adoptive parents suffer a horrible death. If he chose to stay, then his adoptive parents could live the rest of their lives comfortably.

"Since when did I say that I'll let Lily die to save Morgan?" Francis yelled defiantly.

He looked around the room and realized that all the Sterling family members were staring right at him. Those gazes were filled with yearning and pain. It was clear that they all thought Francis would choose Morgan.

That choice seemed to have been made right from the start.

Those gazes infuriated Francis further, making his blood boil. He gritted his teeth, trembling with anger.

Even Lily was tearing up in despair. "Why…"

Why did it have to be like this? Why was she the one being punished? She was his biological daughter, yet he chose Morgan.

"I get it. I'll give up on the treatment," Lily whimpered.
