Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 108

The Sterlings waited quietly in the living room for Hayden to arrive.

When the doorbell rang, Morgan immediately stood up to answer it.

"Hayden!" he greeted warmly.

The others turned to look, their eyes collectively landing on Hayden, who stood at the doorway calmly.

His icy gaze swept across the room, taking in each person present. These people were the ones he shared blood ties with.

"Wow, this is quite the welcome party," he remarked with a faint smile as he stepped inside. "I didn't expect so many people waiting just for me."

"Ha! Who's welcoming you? Your ego really knows no bounds!" Lily snapped, rolling her eyes in disgust. Her disdain was palpable.

"Don't say that. I invited Hayden here. It's not his fault," Morgan quickly interjected, trying to smooth things over.

"Hmph, if it weren't for Morgan's sake, I'd have thrown you out already!" she retorted coldly. "Behave yourself while you're here. And don't you dare steal anything again, or I'll call the police. Got it?"

"Lily, that's enough!" Julia said sternly, her expression serious.

"Enough? Am I wrong? Didn't he always sneak around stealing things back then?" Lily shot back, unwilling to back down.

"Alright! That's enough! Everyone stop arguing!" Charlotte intervened, forcing a smile on her face. "Hayden's return is a good thing. Who knows where he would be wandering now if it weren't for Morgan's generosity? We're all family here. Let's not fight anymore!"

Her expression softened as she turned to Hayden.

When Hayden left the Sterling residence, Charlotte felt something was missing at home. Now that he had returned, it was a happy news!

Her two sons could finally be together again!

The room fell silent. It was so quiet that they could even hear a pin drop.

Everyone exchanged awkward glances, unsure of what to say. Once, none of them even wanted to speak to Hayden. Now, they didn't know where to begin.

The tension in the room left a trace of embarrassment on everyone's faces.

"What's the matter? Everyone looks unwell. Are you all seriously ill? Hopefully, it's not terminal?" Hayden's voice broke the silence, feigning concern.

"Watch your mouth! Who's seriously ill?" Lily snapped, her anger flaring as she cursed at him.

"Hayden, that was an awful thing to say," Julia said coldly, her brow furrowing in displeasure.

The family was perfectly fine—where did he get off cursing them with illness?
