Rebirth: We Split Ways.. novel Chapter 63

Dominic's lips parted after a long pause. "What do you think?"

"She?" Andrew gestured at Penelope, then at Dominic. "And you?"

He finally pointed at himself, "I..."

"What on earth is going on here?"

Overwhelmed and at a loss for words, Andrew needed time to process the bombshell of information.

Warren rubbed his nose and leaned closer to the bewildered Andrew. "Buddy, you've crossed a line this time. Friends don't meddle with each other's wives."

Andrew retorted, visibly upset, "They're divorced! Don't they have the freedom to date?"

Shoving Dominic lightly, he declared, "I had no idea she was your ex-wife."

Penelope walked calmly past Dominic, leaving behind a chilling silence.

"Aren't you going to explain?" Dominic's voice was icy.

Penelope smirked, "And who are you to ask?"

After saying that, she departed gracefully.

"Don't just walk away! What about the three of us here?" Andrew shouted at Penelope’s back

Dominic stormed off, his dark expression evident, while Warren chased him.

On the way back, Andrew was left in a daze, sleep eluding him that night.

Ignoring his secretary's protests, Andrew barged into Penelope's office the following day.

Without lifting her gaze, Penelope responded calmly, "Why are you seeking me out? Didn't your best friend already morally condemn you?"

"After pondering all night, I've decided not to give up on you," Andrew declared earnestly, standing tall. "My feelings for you have only grown stronger."

Penelope raised an eyebrow, surprised. "So?"

Shouldn't this person be superficial?

"We've already moved past our past marriage. Everyone has flaws, but if Archer doesn't value you, then you were right to let him go," Andrew hurriedly expressed, anxious that Penelope might interject.

"I'm not interested,"

Penelope had anticipated Andrew would back off, but to her surprise, he grew even more audacious.

Penelope's gaze turned gradually ominous. She uttered each word deliberately through gritted teeth, "Is that right? What do you intend to do then?"

"Don't worry!" Andrew declared, standing atop the table as he leaned closer to Penelope, his voice full of earnestness. "I promise you, I won't marry that fourth Miss from the Reed family! Just wait; I'll promptly declare my intention to divorce from the Reed family. I won't delay and put you in a difficult spot."

Penelope held her breath momentarily before breaking into a sudden laugh. "Aren't you concerned that the fourth Miss of the Reed family might seek retribution against you?"

"What's the matter with that ugly duckling who lacks self-awareness?"

At that moment, Andrew's phone buzzed. Seeing his father calling, he muttered, "Why are you calling now? This is a crucial moment to express my feelings."

Impatiently, he answered, "Dad, what's up?"

"You foolish child! Pay attention to what you're saying! It's driving me insane!" shouted Master Harris from the other end of the phone.

"Dad, how did you know I was speaking?" Andrew moved the phone farther away, yet he still detected a familiar tone, leaving him puzzled.

Penelope tilted the tablet screen toward him, signaling him to direct his attention that way.

Andrew glanced at the tablet, his eyes widening in surprise. On the screen, Master Harris appeared, gripping his phone sternly, his beard bristling in agitation.

His mind replayed the events from last night, and he felt profoundly disoriented.
