Andrew's bold move caught the attention of every couple in the vicinity, sparking whispers and speculation about a successful marriage proposal.
Not far away sat Warren with his wife, having recently appeased her for a dinner outing.
In recent days, Warren had diligently persuaded his wife, imploring her to join him for dinner.
Seizing an opportunity to taunt, Warren snapped a photo of Andrew and promptly sent it to Dominic,
Along with a cheeky message: [Bro, look who's interested in your ex-wife. Seems like a decent catch.”]
At the headquarters of the Archer Group,
While in a meeting, Dominic received the message. Instantly, his face clouded over, his temples pulsed with tension, and he forcefully slammed his phone onto the table, causing a stir among the attendees supporting the meeting.
He retrieved his coat from the back of the chair, his voice icy and detached. "Proceed without me; I have something to address," he declared.
He determinedly pushed open the door and swiftly departed, heading straight to the restaurant.
Back at the restaurant, Andrew sat upright, looking earnestly at Penelope. "Goddess, my public declaration might have seemed rash, tarnishing your impression of me. I apologize."
Penelope, unfazed, replied, "Apology accepted. Just don't do it again."
Andrew continued, his eyes filled with sincerity, "But my feelings for you are genuine.
"At the auction, a mere few words from you led an old man to a loss, captivating me with your astuteness when you acquired the bracelet," he remarked.
"On the rooftop, witnessing your delicate figure, buffeted by the wind and shedding tears, stirred a deep compassion within me. While I might comprehend the intricacies of a woman's heart, often lost amidst petals and emotions, never before had I been so attuned to someone's emotions as I was that night," he confessed.
"Afterwards, upon my return to Seattle, I witnessed you singing on stage. I was utterly entranced, unable to tear myself away," he admitted.
Listening to Andrew's heartfelt confession, Penelope remained unfazed. He sipped his red wine, a subtle smile gracing his lips. "You do realize I've been divorced before, don't you?" he gently reminded.
Anticipating the question, Andrew promptly conveyed his unwavering loyalty.
"Goddess, even divorce cannot tarnish the flawless image you hold in my heart," he professed.
"Hey, buddy, I didn't get any response when I greeted you. Why are you eyeing my goddess?" Andrew said, giving Dominic a friendly pat on the shoulder.
Dominic glanced once more at Andrew.
It became clear that the goddess he had referred to in the group was none other than Penelope!
The trio remained at a standstill. Warren approached, seeking to understand the situation.
He cast a sheepish glance at Penelope, checking to see if any blame was being directed her way. Clearing his throat, he said, "Didn't I mention before that your goddess's ex-husband is Dominic?"
Andrew felt as though a thunderbolt had struck him on a clear day, his mouth agape, rendered speechless for a prolonged moment.
Penelope rose gracefully, pressing the bouquet of crystal roses back into Andrew's hands with a detached expression. "You'd best keep these flowers. Perhaps you should consider using the money to help your brother see more clearly," she remarked coolly.
"Penelope, your words are rather... harsh," Warren began to say, but when met with Penelope's icy, penetrating gaze, he was utterly speechless.
"Archer, is what she said true?" Andrew finally managed to utter, his voice trembling.
