The manager couldn't hold back any longer; securing his position was crucial.
"President Reed, we can immediately increase our personnel; the Diamoson side is also on board with sharing resources!"
"I'll send the project proposal to the relevant team immediately!"
Penelope nodded, brooking no opposition, "Finish all this within an hour. If not, you can leave on your own."
The managers echoed in agreement. Without another word, they started making calls and assigning tasks to their subordinates. Their accusatory glances were directed at Lucy, leaving her no way to defend herself.
"It seems Director Corr enjoys hearing stories from others' mouths," Penelope smirked, eyes lowered. "Do you think I've risen to this position merely for my looks, thinking you can casually challenge me?"
"How could that be? It's all a misunderstanding, President Reed, please don't mind," Lucy replied, her voice submissive and conciliatory, showing no resistance.
Penelope rose from his chair, casting a discerning eye across the room, his gaze as penetrating as Dominic's. "Mr. Archer, the spectacle of making an example out of one to warn the others has concluded. I shall take my leave."
She didn't pause for Dominic's response. Determinedly, she clicked her heels and swung the door wide open, with Kevin trailing closely behind, clutching her bag.
The steady and forceful footsteps behind them became apparent as they approached the elevator. Turning around, they found Dominic following them.
Penelope and Dominic stepped inside as the elevator doors opened.
Dominic's indifferent voice filled the space, "When did you become so assertive and domineering?"
"I always have been."
"Did Vincent teach you this?" Dominic's voice deepened, betraying a jealousy he hadn't realized he felt.
Without glancing at him, Penelope retorted, "What's it to you?"
Growing increasingly irritated, Dominic moved closer, "Can't we have a civil conversation?"
"No," Penelope replied, her voice icy, "That's how Mr. Archer has always spoken to me. Why the sudden irritation now?"
Dominic was momentarily speechless, trying to recall instances where he might have been patient with Penelope. But he couldn't think of any.
He was at a loss for words.
"Though we're in a three-way partnership, let's avoid private interactions unless necessary. For instance, sharing an elevator. Let's not do it again."
[It seems she's been hurt after her divorce and is now lost in the allure of wealth and power.]
Adam reclined on the sofa, lifting a glass of wine. The ice cubes inside clinked softly against the mirror as she held a steely gaze. "I've already set someone on the task. By tonight, we'll have our answers," she declared with a chilling resolve.
Unfazed by the situation, Penelope set his phone aside with a composed demeanor. "It seems nothing novel or insightful is coming from them lately," he remarked. "The online community's creativity has taken a dip recently."
Adam shook his head in resignation, "Only you could see it that way."
Megan hugged Penelope, "Come on, let's go sing."
Subsequently, as they stepped onto the stage outside, they were taken aback to find Warren embracing two statuesque beauties dressed in chic attire, with Dominic standing alongside them.
"Brother, I've finally released my anger," Warren declared, embracing the beautiful woman's waist even more tightly and laughing wildly.
Dominic stopped, looking at him, "What do you mean? What have you done?"
"I found the video of that woman going to the hotel with her subordinate. I took screenshots and posted them online with a big headline. I want her to face the consequences."
