"Get out of here quickly," Warren urged.
Dominic's brow furrowed, "Things weren't as you think after you left."
Warren retorted, "It's exactly as I think. That's just the kind of woman she is."
"If you hadn't pushed me away, I would have gone over there and given that cheating pair a piece of my mind, making them understand what honor and integrity mean!"
Warren reflected on the haunting emptiness he had seen in Dominic's eyes earlier, a deep sense of sorrow welling up for his brother. With each word he uttered, his anger only intensified.
"She toyed with me at the racetrack and even threatened me. I had to let the netizens see her true colors."
"Is that so? I'll be waiting for your confrontation."
Penelope's icy voice sent shivers down Warren's spine, making him jump in surprise.
"Why are you everywhere?" Warren shuddered, trying to shake off his unease.
Getting caught bad-mouthing someone was embarrassing enough, but it was worse when the subject was right behind you.
Penelope stood with folded arms behind her, leaning slightly towards Adam beside her. "Well, isn't this convenient? No need to dig any further; the culprit stands right before us," she remarked with a tone of certainty.
Megan pointed at Warren, scolding, "So, it's you bullying my darling! Watch how I deal with you today!"
Penelope stopped Megan and pulled out her phone, showing Warren a photo, "I've sent this cozy photo of you to your wife."
Warren immediately let go of the woman, exclaiming, "Penelope, you're asking for trouble!"
"I've heard your wife prefers a quiet life, and you don't hold much sway at home. If she discovers you're enjoying yourself so much out here, could it lead to her seeking a divorce once she finds out?"
Warren stammered, "You're talking nonsense. My wife won't believe it."
Yet, he anxiously touched his phone, which suddenly started ringing.
He quickly answered, trying to lower his voice, "Hey, honey."
Voices from the other end were raised in a heated argument, prompting Warren to lower the volume on his phone swiftly.
Now that she’s divorced, they still act superior, thinking they have gained something by having Dominic.
The more she pondered, the janitor happened to pass by once more. The bucket he carried brimmed with the recently cleaned vomit of a customer, with traces of yellowish oil still floating atop. Without hesitation, Penelope seized the pail and drenched Warren with its contents.
"Ah—"
Warren recoiled at the sour odor drenching him and let out a piercing scream, seeking help. Yet, his companions had distanced themselves, keeping a safe and deliberate distance.
Dominic furrowed his brow, averting his gaze. "Go clean yourself up and stay away from me."
Penelope accepted the paper towel that Megan offered, cleaning his hands meticulously. "Why haven't you cashed that check from before? Did you toss it aside? If so, I'll write you another one. It wouldn't hurt to cover your wardrobe expenses a few more times."
With that, she walked away with her two companions.
Warren shoved Dominic, exclaiming, "Brother, handle this woman! She's becoming increasingly unreasonable."
Dominic shot back, his chest burning with frustration, "Control her? We're divorced!"
