Rebirth: We Split Ways.. novel Chapter 19

Inside the first-class cabin.

Dominic took out the two rings he had claimed to have 'thrown away.'

After a moment of hesitation, he chose the thicker one and slid it onto his finger. He had never tried it on before and was surprised to find that it fit perfectly, as if it had been measured.

However, for three years, he had consistently refused to wear the wedding ring, citing work as an excuse.

In an ordinary couple, this would have led to quarrels.

Yet, Penelope never complained; she was gentle, understanding, and indulgent toward him.

Little did he expect she would leave decisively after their divorce, rejecting even the wedding ring three years later.

or

Dominic silently turned the ring on his finger, his brow furrowed.

Gentle and compliant, yet resolutely independent.

‘Which one are you...’

The plane landed in Dubai.

Dominic went directly to the top floor of the Harris Corporation building, to the CEO's office.

With his attractive peach blossom eyes, Andrew double-checked on the computer, picked up the project proposal to confirm once more, and then put down the documents. He solemnly said, "Bro, I've reviewed it. Your Archer Corporation does meet the participation criteria."

Dominic raised an eyebrow.

The interference came from the Diamoson Corp..

Andrew asked, "Did you offend the president of the Diamoson Corp., Vincent? According to the records, he exercised his veto power to reject Archer Corporation's participation."

Dominic's eyes darkened, revealing nothing.

"I haven't met him. My secretary has been handling the exhibition all this time, and the previous reports indicated everything was going well; just a step away from signing the contract."

"Then where is your secretary? Let her continue handling it." Andrew played with his pen, a playful look on his face.

Dominic involuntarily lowered his gaze, suppressing a sense of disappointment. "She resigned."

Andrew suddenly enlightened, "This secretary must be causing trouble behind your back and quitting, taking resources with her, causing you to lose a big deal.

Sue her immediately; she must have signed a non-compete agreement when she joined."

Only Warren and a few friends knew about it, but they disregarded it, thinking Dominic had made a big mistake in marrying a commoner girl. Outside, he was known as a single man.

"I got divorced a while ago," Lanny blurted out, realizing too late.

Feeling Dominic's sharp gaze, he quickly lowered his head, silently cursing himself for being too talkative.

Andrew, who had a joke ready to crack, suddenly found himself speechless.

"It's fine, bro. Marriage is the grave of love, and your divorce was the right choice."

Seemingly reminded of his affairs, he sighed.

"What's wrong with you?" Dominic asked calmly.

In a friendly manner, Andrew poured out his grievances, "I don't want to get married!

The old man keeps pushing me to marry the ugly monster from the Diamoson Corp.. She had acne all over her face. When she was abroad, I had an excuse to avoid her. Now that she's back in the country, the old man pressures me again!"

"He even set a date for me, asking me to hurry home and marry the ugly monster."

"I'm going bald worrying about it!"
