"It's this one."
Kyla reached out, and a simple yet uniquely radiant ring lay quietly in her palm.
When Dominic's gaze touched the ring, he remembered that this was the only 'gift' he had given to Penelope during their three years of marriage.
Taking it from Kyla, he rubbed the inside of the ring with his thumb.
Inside, the initials 'D&P' were engraved.
He still remembered Penelope asking him to help her put on the ring, and he impatiently said, 'We'll talk later.'
But she persisted and wore it for three years without ever taking it off.
Seeing Dominic lost in thought while holding the ring, Kyla's face showed a hint of displeasure, but she still maintained a polite smile. "Such an important thing, Miss Reed actually left it behind. Dominic, should we return this ring to Ms. Penelope or..."
"What's the point of returning it to her?" Melissa immediately voiced her discontent upon hearing this. "That woman pretended to be gentle and obedient. But as time went on, she began to show her true colors. How can she be anything good!"
"That's right! When she first came to our house, I felt she was not simple!" Danna added, following up with a few more critical remarks.
Dominic's face turned even darker when he heard these words. He suddenly tightened the ring box.
Thinking about the man in the recent phone call who shamelessly talked about 'booking a hotel,' his eyes became even colder, and an unnamed anger surged in his chest, making him feel increasingly irritable.
So, this woman had already found a new place and was in such a hurry to leave!
His voice, chilling to the bone, penetrated the air. "Throw it away."
After her son spoke like this, Melissa became even more mean, "That's right, throw away everything she touched at home, I think it's bad luck!"
Turning to Kyla, she consoled her with a pleasing tone, "Dominic is just a bit of a clean freak. He doesn't like others touching his things. Don't take it to heart."
Kyla remained indifferent, and her gaze followed Dominic.
This was their bridal chamber, with Penelope's shadow everywhere. Dominic slept here every day, inevitably he was bound to get hurt by memories of his wife.
But she also knew that Dominic's words were serious, and she had to restore the room.
This made Kyla extremely uneasy.
Dominic didn't seem to care about Penelope. Or so she thought.
Watching Dominic quickly pack up his men's clothing into a suitcase, Kyla became apprehensive, with a heart full of suspicion.
