Mia waved her phone and frowned. "Her birthday is all over the internet. Everyone's posting about the party invitations, saying this Wilson family party will definitely be exciting. Even if I didn't want to know about it, there's so much news I couldn't help but learn about it."
Zachary looked at Mia with interest. "Do you want to attend?"
"No!" Mia waved her hands in rejection. "I don't want to go to that kind of event. Those people just fake smile, and besides, I don't believe Vivian is really being kind by inviting us. Who knows what nasty tricks she's planning behind the scenes? Plus, I don't want to wish her happy birthday. I'd rather see her cry every day for bullying Sarah!"
"But this time, Sasa is going too—with me," he raised an eyebrow.
Mia jumped up. "What? Sarah is going? That won't do! Zachary, you have to stop Sister Sarah. That Vivian will definitely try to hurt her somehow."
Zachary pressed her shoulders to make her sit down and whispered a few words in her ear. "Do you understand now?"
Mia's eyes crinkled into crescents from smiling. "That's perfect! But I still don't want to go see those people's fake faces. You better protect Sarah well when the time comes."
"Mia, go rest now."
After Mia returned to her room, Zachary stared thoughtfully at a message Steven had sent on his phone.
The day before the party, Vivian stared blankly at the gowns covering her bed. Every dress was incredibly expensive—haute couture from luxury brands that many wealthy daughters couldn't even get their hands on, yet here they were laid out casually for her to choose from.
If this had been a few months ago, she would have enjoyed such treatment, but now things were different.
That same day, Sarah received a gown from Zachary.
Ever since it was confirmed that Sarah would attend the party, Melvin had been searching for the most suitable dress for her. How tragic it would be for a woman to be outshone at her own event.
Their goal was to make Vivian witness her own failure at her most important occasion.
Sarah opened the package and pulled out the stunning gown from inside.
Melvin quietly walked in and took the dress from her hands, stroking the gossamer-like fabric. "This is a work by Sandro, Italy's most famous master. Many heiresses have thrown fortunes at trying to get this dress, but no one has ever truly owned it. I never expected it to be in Zachary's hands."
