Rebirth In Divorce My New Mr. Perfect (by Summer Knowles) novel Chapter 788

Charlotte sat across from James with some disappointment, staring absent-mindedly at the photo frame beside his hand. It was a picture of her and James together—one she had specifically brought over and placed in that spot. She was surprised James had kept it.

She couldn't help but say disappointedly, "James, we both know perfectly well that Wilson Corporation's predicament was created by both Reynolds and Sanders working together. You've never cared about the Reynolds family's power, and you've always been at odds with Melvin. There's only one possibility—it's for her."

Vivian had only ever hurt Sarah—it would have been decent enough for him not to kick her while she was down.

"Charlotte, why do you keep fixating on her?" He suddenly thought of those torn photos.

"I keep fixating on her?" Charlotte jumped up, her shoulders trembling as she was about to lose control.

At the crucial moment, she still managed to restrain her emotions.

She took a deep breath and said, "James, I won't fixate on her anymore, but can you forget about her? Whether it's her photos or anything else, I don't want to see them in our home anymore. I can't tolerate my husband thinking about another woman while living with me."

James looked at Charlotte's unyielding gaze and knew he had indeed gone too far these past few days.

He softened his tone. "Charlotte, it's my fault."

No matter what, he wanted to end this pointless argument as quickly as possible.

Seeing him finally soften, Charlotte didn't press further. She pushed the soup bowl toward James again. "James, please drink it."

Neither of them spoke anymore. In the vast office, the only sound was James drinking his soup.

That evening, James came home early. For once, he didn't disappear into his study for hours, but had a proper dinner with her and even took care of their son.

She didn't say anything, but this time James stayed.

Lying in James's arms, she suddenly thought of those beautiful times from the past. If only Sarah were gone, everything could return to how it was.

The knife and fork clinked against the plate as she absent-mindedly picked at the meat on her plate, her expression seemingly lost in thought.

Before she finished eating, while still thinking about her argument with James, she saw the housekeeper bring in an invitation.

"Madam, this just arrived from the Wilson family."

Charlotte took the invitation. Vivian was throwing a birthday party?

She stared at the gold-embossed invitation in silence for a long time. She hated Vivian, but had to admit that Wilson family events carried far more weight than most parties on the East Coast.

The fact that the Wilson family had sent an invitation was worth examining closely.

Given her past entanglements with Vivian and the current conflict between Mr. Wilson and James, why would the Wilson family still send an invitation?
