The room went silent. Total shock.
No way. How could this be real?
Lydia… she…
Daisy’s face turned ghostly pale, her eyes wide with panic. “It’s not real! It’s all fake! She set this up beforehand!”
How could it be true?
Lydia, a member of the CAR-T research team? And judging by what they just saw, she wasn’t just a member, she was at the center of it all.
It wasn’t just Daisy. Almost everyone in the room, except for a few people who already knew, looked like they’d just been hit by a truck.
Angelo and Stellan stared, mouths open.
Was this real? Or just some elaborate trick?
“If you think it’s fake, go ahead and have an expert look at it. Daisy, a bet is a bet,” Lydia said, her eyes glinting as she looked at Daisy, who was about to faint.
Daisy shook her head so hard it looked painful. “No, no, this can’t be true! Lydia, you planned all of this, didn’t you?”
It felt like Daisy’s whole world had caved in.
She’d always strutted around Capital, calling herself a medical genius.
But ever since Lydia showed up, everything changed.
After she transferred to Capital College, Daisy spent every day planning how to embarrass Lydia in front of everyone.
Never in a million years did she think Lydia would actually…
Everyone was completely floored by the truth about Lydia.
They were all just freshmen. Eighteen, just like her. But somehow, she was already at the very top of the medical world.
They weren’t even playing the same game.
At the end, there were pictures of people crying as they said goodbye to her. Everyone in the room lowered their heads, wishing they could disappear.
Daisy just stood there, mind blank, her face burning with shame. She couldn’t even speak.
How could this happen?
How could Lydia be so incredible?
Why had she never heard about any of this before?
Rosie and her friends were just as stunned. Rosie had always thought Lydia was faking it, maybe using connections behind the scenes. She never expected Lydia to actually be this good.
“Mr. Moore, sorry to interrupt, but I really want to know… how did Lydia achieve so much at such a young age? Did she have some secret mentor?” Angelo and Stellan still felt the sting of embarrassment but their curiosity won out. How was Lydia so amazing?
It almost didn’t feel real. Like they were living in a dream.
Kevin smiled, his pride obvious. “Let me introduce Lydia properly. She’s my only personal student. I couldn’t be prouder for everything she’s achieved.”
