Plot Twist: I'm Dating Your Best Friend novel Chapter 86

Meanwhile, in Stokelle, Cassandra held a plastic bag full of grilled sausages.

The three big dogs were sitting obediently in a row in front of her, patiently waiting for their

turn.

She kept things perfectly fair–one sip of water each from the same bowl, one after the other. No more or less.

Ryan stood nearby with his arms crossed, the smile on his lips growing wider by the second.” Looks like my three large dogs have completely turned on me. When I feed them, they act like wolves and almost bite my hand off. But with you, they sit all polite and dainty.”

Cassandra laughed as she broke a sausage into smaller pieces. “Maybe they’d rather have me as their owner?”

Ryan snorted. “Ungrateful mutts. You’ve only been taking care of them for a few days, and they’ve already switched sides.”

Being loved by dogs always brought a special kind of joy. Cassandra was in a good mood. “Of course, they’re closer to me. I’m the one who’s been walking and feeding them ever since you brought them to the hotel. It’s no surprise that they’re more attached to me.”

Just then, a young family crossed the street nearby. A baby, who was only a few months old, was wailing in the father’s arms. But as soon as the mother took the baby, the crying stopped instantly. The baby even smiled.

The dad felt instantly rejected. “What, do you love Mom but not Dad now?”

An elderly passerby laughed. “That’s a baby boy, isn’t it? Boys always cling to their moms

more.”

Ryan murmured to himself without thinking, “Boys cling to their moms…”

Cassandra turned to him. “What did you say?”

“Nothing.” Ryan waved it off. “Don’t spoil them too much. How many sausages have they had already?”

Cassandra stuck her tongue out at him. “You’re one to talk. You bought out the whole sausage cart”

Ryan shrugged.

After handing out the last sausage, Cassandra held up her hand in a “stop” gesture to the dogs. “The vet said you all need to lose weight. That’s all for today. The rest can wait until tomorrow.”

The dogs whimpered, trying to melt her heart.
