Please Give Me Another Chance, Mrs. Hamilton novel Chapter 888

Brad, a man of power and influence, had no reason to take issue with someone as inconsequential as Zara. Besides, she had done him the small favor of asking Nadine the question that had been eating at him.

When Zara apologized, Brad simply dismissed it. Still, his gaze never left Nadine.

Nadine could feel a sharp gaze boring into her and knew exactly who it belonged to. But she refused to meet his gaze and instead chose to chat casually with Zara.

The dinner lasted an hour and a half. The atmosphere wasn't exactly lively, but it wasn't dreadful either, mostly thanks to Zara's efforts to keep the conversation going.

Seraphina had taken a genuine liking to Nadine, frequently showering her with compliments. Nadine responded with warm smiles, her demeanor humble and polite.

Brad, on the other hand, remained silent the entire time, sitting there with a stern expression on his face. He couldn't help but feel agitated as he watched Nadine smile so brightly at Seraphina.

To suppress his growing anger, he rose from his seat and went to the restroom to collect himself. After washing his hands, he stepped out, only to have someone bump into him. Out of courtesy, he steadied the person in his arms before stepping back to put some distance between them.

The person who had crashed into him was Zara. Her face was flushed from the alcohol, and her eyes were misty and glazed. The moment she realized who she'd run into, she smiled brightly. "Oh, it's you, Mr. Hamilton! Thank you for helping me. I would've embarrassed myself otherwise!"

It was still cold outside, so most people layered coats over sweaters. Once they were inside with the heating on, they'd take off their coats. The restaurant had their heater on, so Zara wasn't wearing a sweater or coat—just a white camisole.
