Though Nadine didn't catch Zara in the act, she knew Zara's intention all too well. It was nothing more than a ploy to take advantage of the drug's effects to have sex with Brad.
But Nadine had been careless and accidentally sprayed the drug onto herself. She ended up being the one who threw herself at Brad instead.
Realizing that she had been found out, Zara showed no remorse. She burst into laughter and said, "I was never an honorable person, Nadine. Don't try to lecture me about ethics. I'm not sorry!
"You, though, have reconciled with Brad because of my drug. Shouldn't you be thanking me instead?"
Hearing how self-righteous Zara sounded, Nadine couldn't help but laugh.
"Ms. Zimmerman, I'm busy and don't have time for your nonsense. Let's end this right here. Bye!"
It felt like a waste of time talking to her. Reluctant to continue the conversation, she intended to hang up when Zara stopped her.
"Nadine, don't you want to know where your son is?" she asked, not wanting Nadine to hang up so soon.
She cackled and continued, "You wouldn't even realize what has happened to him if I hadn't brought it up, would you? Go ahead, look for him. If you can't find him, call me!"
The call abruptly ended.
Now that her son was involved, Nadine panicked and immediately started searching the house for Sean. She checked every possible hiding place, but there was no sign of him.
Noticing Nadine was turning the house upside down, Avery dashed out of her room and asked, "What are you looking for?"
"Sean!" Nadine sputtered. "Where is he?"
Seeing how frantic and disoriented she looked, Avery grabbed her hand and asked, "Nad, what's wrong with you? Isn't Sean with the Hamilton family now? Mr. Hamilton Senior took him. Did you forget?"
Only then did Nadine remember that Daniel had called to have someone pick Sean up. She had seen him off into the car leaving for Hamilton Estate.
