Nancy Xander had completely abandoned all her honor to ‘seduce’ Heaton Fudd. However, not only did Heaton Fudd not react to it, he did not even bother to take a single glance at her and immediately rejected her out the door. She was standing out the washroom door in a state of undress as her tears of humiliation fell down the corner of her eyes. She spoke in a shaky tear-filled tone, “Why are you willing to touch a lady of unknown origin like Verian Mont and not me? Heaton Fudd, am I incomparable to Verian Mont?”
However, the only reply she received was the sounds of falling water.
Could it be due to the fact that she was his sister in law?
No, she will never allow Verian Mont to snatch Heaton Fudd away from her.
…
Mont family mansion.
After Verian Mont left the Fudd family mansion with disdain and returning to the Mont family mansion, she spent the entire night cleaning up the place. Based on the actual theory, she should be feeling completely physically exhausted. However as she laid in bed at the moment, she did not feel a single shred of fatigue. No matter how much she tossed and turned, she was extraordinarily awake. Even more peculiar was, at this moment, her mind was focused on where exactly did Heaton Fudd head out to enjoy when he drove off.
He would not… be looking for a lady right?
She was startled by that thought when it flashed across her mind.
What did Heaton Fudd who went to look for a lady had anything to do with her?
However, her hands said otherwise as she switched on her phone and it showed it was already past eleven P.M.
She tapped on her phone and scrolled through her contacts until it reached Heaton Fudd’s number. She was conflicted if she should give him a call. Since she did nothing wrong and why should she call him only to ask for a scolding, right?
However… she was starting to miss Little Jelly Bean now.
With that thought in mind, she worked up the courage and began calling.
She would call him only to ask if Little Jelly Bean had gone to sleep yet or not!
The call was connected after a long dial tone. Before she had fully come up with an alibi, a soft flirtatious woman’s voice echoed through the other side of the call.
“Verian? What business do you have for calling Heaton?”
Of course, she knew whose voice it belonged to.
Nancy Xander… Why would she pick up Heaton Fudd’s call?
“Sister in law… I’m looking for Heaton Fudd.”
“Heaton is taking a shower. After he’s out, I’ll have him call you back okay.”
Verian Mont was clutching her phone. She was stunned since water sounds seemed to truly be coming from the other end, “There’s no need. There’s nothing I need.”
After that statement ended, her tiny face had a bitter look as she hastily hung up the call.
After hanging up the call, she sat on her bed as her emotions could not be calmed for a good long while.
She patted her chest, since it was not the first day she knew about Heaton Fudd’s ‘affair’. Besides, she even had his child, could they possibly never have done anything intimate before?
After the phone call, Verian Mont realized it was harder for her to sleep now.
The image of Heaton Fudd cuddling up with Nancy Xander flashed across her mind repeatedly. Her heart felt displeased, the bitter emotion was building up and expanding inside her, it stung slightly. It was most likely the product of her staying up late at night.
She pulled the blanket over her head and proceeded to sleep!
…
Here on the other end, Nancy Xander deleted that phone call from the log and took a glance at the washroom before placing the phone down on the same spot. She spoke to the man in the washroom, “Heaton, Zaynie had a parents’ event tomorrow noon. Don’t you forget and come along with me. Or else… Zaynie will be sad.”
Heaton Fudd who was inside never responded. Nancy Xander knew he had heard her, so he fiddled with her palms and left the room.
After Heaton Fudd was done with his shower, he approached his cell phone while drying his short hair with a towel.
He had some obsessive-compulsive disorder. This included his love for cleanliness and if anyone was to move his stuff from his previously placed position, he would realize it better and sharper than any normal person.
Verian Mont was stunned. What did Heaton Fudd want from her?
However, judging from Nancy Xander’s demeanor, it should be something awful.
…
As she approached the president’s office’s entrance, Verian Mont raised her arm to knock on the door. A single cold and deep manly voice echoed through the door telling her to, “come in”. Only after that did she push the door open.
The moment she entered and as she had just walked in, that man who was sitting on the black office chair violently threw a folder at her.
“Ah…! Heaton Fudd…! What’s wrong with you!”
The sturdy edge of the plastic folder struck her elbow. It left a not too serious bloody cut. Due to her white and sensitive skin, that swollen bloody cut made it stand out significantly.
“Look at how much losses you’ve cost the company with the translated agreement you did!”
Verian Mont’s heart was startled and immediately bent over to pick up the folder. The instant she flipped open for a look, she realized the page that showed the numbers was missing a single zero. It was missing from the original fifty million dollars to five million dollars…
However, she clearly remembered she compared the numbers multiple times over. It was without a doubt fifty million dollars. How could it suddenly have a zero missing?
“What do you have to say for yourself?”
The man’s voice was cold. It was menacing to people. Verian Mont spoke with a frown, “I actually remembered writing fifty million dollars when I made the translation. After I’m done translating it last night, I submitted it to Director Xander immediately. I’m not sure if it was Director Xander…”
Before she could finish, Heaton Fudd’s voice interrupted her, “You intend to push the blame on others after a mistake you’ve made?”
“I didn’t… but I was afraid of mistranslating that sum back then and had gone out my way to cross-check it multiple times. I am certain I didn’t…”
“Enough!”
Verian Mont’s watery eyes violently trembled. How could she be this foolish? No matter how much she explained, Heaton Fudd would always believe Nancy Xander since he was so intimate with Nancy Xander last night. How would it be possible for him to blame Nancy Xander anyway?
