The black Spyker drove into the Fudd family’s mansion. Before Heaton Fudd got out of the car, he noticed Little Jelly Bean who was feeding the mosquitoes sitting at the long hallway through his windshield not far from here.
The little rascal was sitting on a marble stool. She seemed depressed as her mouth was pouting. She seemed like she was sitting there waiting for someone.
After Heaton Fudd got out of the car, he paced quickly to the hallway. He frowned and asked in a compassionate tone, “Why are you sitting here, Jelly Bean? Are you not afraid of getting bitten by mosquitoes?”
“Daddy.” The little rascal looked up with her little face and called out to Heaton Fudd with a soft and gentle voice. However, she had no intention of entering the house.
Heaton Fudd held his temper back and carried her up from the marble stool. He sat with her in the hallway. There was a shred of fatigue and compassion from the tone of his voice, “Fought with brother?”
The little rascal shook her head while her long lashes were curled like a small shadow formed beneath her eyes. She looked up with her tiny face toward Heaton Fudd and said, “I didn’t fight with brother, I’m waiting for daddy and Monty to come home.”
Waiting for him and Verian Mont?
The man frowned and said, “Monty left?”
“Yeah, she left not long after you did. She was dragging along her luggage as well. Monty said she wanted to return to her home for a few days but I feel that Monty doesn’t wanna be with daddy anymore. Daddy, can you bring Monty back?”
Little Jelly Bean was depressed as she thought. She did not know where the Mont family home was, if she did, she would have long since looked for her.
Heaton Fudd’s expression dimmed. There was an unreadable expression from the bottom of his eyes.
That woman actually had the audacity to leave the Fudd family home?
Was she not taking his word to heart?
“Daddy? Have you heard what Jelly Bean was saying?”
The little rascal grabbed onto Heaton Fudd’s hand with her pale white hands and shook it around.
It was only then did Heaton Fudd snap out of his trance. When he glanced down to his daughter, his eyes seemed submissive and compassionate, “Alright, daddy will bring Monty back tomorrow night.”
Little Jelly Bean immediately beamed up delightfully. She burrowed into Heaton Fudd’s embrace while hugging his neck with her tiny hands as she chuckled gleefully. She said, “I can see Monty tomorrow!”
Heaton Fudd noticed the little rascal’s chubby arms and legs had been stung swollen by mosquitoes. His heart was slightly wrenching and carried his child indoors, “Grandpa isn’t home, how is no one concerned about you and allowed you to sit in the courtyard to be stung by mosquitoes alone?”
The man’s tone had hints of frustration. It was unsure who he was blaming.
Nancy Xander who brought some water for Zaynie and had just come down from the second floor overheard Heaton Fudd’s statement. While clutching the cup in her hands and looking toward the father and daughter duo, she explained in a soft tone, “I had told Little Jelly Bean to come back indoors earlier, but Jelly Bean…”
Heaton Fudd replied with a deep and cold tone, “You can’t advise her, but you certainly can help spray some insect repellent for her.”
Nancy Xander was stunned since this was the first time Heaton Fudd was bitter about Little Jelly Bean toward her. She felt slightly humiliated and said, “Heaton, Jelly Bean only had a couple of mosquito bites, is that really necessary for you to get this mad at me?”
Besides, even Little Jelly Bean’s own birth mother could not be bothered to care about her and she was nothing more than Little Jelly Bean’s aunt. Not only did he not blame Verian Mont, he actually blamed her?
“Heaton…”
Heaton Fudd did not respond. He turned and immediately walked into his room. Nancy Xander explained after he turned around, “Heaton, are you still blaming me for not taking care of Little Jelly Bean? I know you love Little Jelly Bean, but you’re too cruel. Have you ever thought about how I feel knowing that child was the product of you and another woman? Sometimes, I envy Verian Mont, what right does…”
The man paused and gradually turned around. His dark pearly eyes were staring directly at her, “So you meant to say you disliked Little Jelly Bean for some time now right?”
“How could I? That’s not what I meant… Heaton, I never disliked Little Jelly Bean…”
Heaton Fudd was slightly frowning. He lowered his brisk sharp black pearly eyes. He impatiently adjusted his sleeves and spoke in an extremely menacing tone, “Back then, I didn’t investigate how did Little Jelly Bean actually fell on her head. That was because I didn’t want my brother’s wife to be placed in too much of a bad position. Little Jelly Bean is my daughter and she’s only going to address you with a single ‘aunty’. I don’t blame you for not taking care of her, but I will never allow you to cause her harm.”
Nancy Xander’s face grew inhumanly pale, “Heaton… You, you would actually think it was me that caused Little Jelly Bean to fall on her head? Even if she’s not my birth daughter, she’s still my niece. How could you think that I’m that vile?”
Heaton Fudd kept the usual neutral expression, “If there’s nothing else, sister in law, I’ll be getting some rest.”
That man turned around and was about to head into the washroom, however, Nancy Xander hugged onto his waist with a swift motion. Her face was attached tightly onto his back. She closed both of her eyes and proceeded to cry without making a sound, “Between the both of us Heaton, we weren’t originally like this. Why did everything change to the way it is now?”
“Sister in law, please have some restraint.”
Both of those arms around his waist grew tighter instead, “No, I don’t want to be your sister in law, Heaton Fudd, I never once wanted to be your sister in law! You were after me during our university days back then, the person you loved was me, you still do now right?”
Heaton Fudd coldly pulled both of her arms away. As he was about to enter the washroom, Nancy Xander stripped off her dress. The dress fell onto the ground, beside her feet. She then started to hug him again, pressing against his back she said, “Heaton, can we start over?”
