Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1038

Yanny's fingernails dug into her palms. She stood defiantly in front of Shayne. "You don't have to remind me of my place, Shayne, and I understand what you mean. If you insist on collaborating with Jacob Hardwood Company, then our relationship ends here!"

Shayne clenched his fists. His expression was gradually becoming angry. "Our relationship ends here? Are you threatening me, Yanny?"

"I'm not threatening you. The Jacobs are my enemies, and there's nothing more to say between us if you insist on working with them!"

Yanny glared at Shayne while tears welled up in her eyes. Their chests were heaving out of anger.

Not a word was said, but the war raged on silently.

Yanny stretched out a hand. "It'll cost you five million bucks to break up with me!"

Shayne did not expect that the first thing she asked was money.

'Doesn't this woman talk about anything other than money?'

Shayne chuckled mockingly. "Break up? Do you think that you're my girlfriend, Yanny? At most, you're friends with benefits whom I've slept with a few times. Do you think that you're anything at all to me?"

Yanny's eyelashes fluttered. Shayne's words had hurt her dignity.

Immediately, Yanny flashed an alluring smile. She did not retract her hand, but instead stretched it even more. "If we're merely friends with benefits, then we'll calculate the fees that way. It's been 489 days since we first met. I'm not asking for much, only 200 bucks per day, so that's 97,800 in total. We've made out twelve times in 489 days, and it's 200,000 bucks each time, so that's 2,400,000 bucks. Two times out of the twelve, you forgot to wear a condom, so that's an extra million. Also, now that we're ending our relationship ahead of the agreement, that's a breach of contract, so please pay me another five million. I'm not asking for a lot, only 8,497,800 bucks. I'll round it down since we've known each other for a long time, so that's eight million. Our relationship is officially over once you pay up."

Shayne gritted his teeth and his jawline went taut. His expression was indescribably sullen.

'Are you a woman, or an emotionless money-making machine?'

'Did you rattle off those figures so quickly because you've planned it?'

"You ask for eight million, and yet you say that isn't a lot."

Yanny was unexpectedly calm. "Eight million isn't even pocket change for you, Shayne. The contract with Jacob Company should be worth at least tens of millions. Eight million isn't a lot to ask for a woman who had slept with you, isn't it?"

Shayne tore off a check and wrote eight million on it.

He held the check between his slender fingers and chuckled coldly. "Indeed, it's not a lot. You want the eight million, right?

"Then let me do you one more time." He spat out those words mercilessly.

He was utterly humiliating her.

Yanny's back straightened. Her face was turning pale, but she forced herself to maintain the smile on her face and said teasingly, "Sure, but that'll cost you extra."

Shayne tore another check and scribbled something on it.

He held both checks between his fingers and looked at her mockingly. "I'll give you a million for the last time. What a deal for you."

Yanny grinned and snatched the two checks from his fingers. "Sure. Might as well, right?"

Yanny knew that the final million bucks would not be easy, but she did not expect that whatever Shayne did to her before was only the tip of the iceberg.

Yanny stumbled into the car while wrapped in a coat.

She sat inside and closed her eyes. She gripped the two checks in her hand tightly, and bit her lip until it turned white.

She took countless deep breaths to calm herself down, started the car, and drove away from Luna Mansion.

A tall and well-built man stood next to the bedroom window on the second floor, looking at the white Mercedes Benz in the yard driving away.

His gaze was as cold as ice.

Eventually, Shayne dialed a number.

Jake answered the call. "President Shayne?"

The man's eyes were transfixed on the white car vanishing in the distance. "Cancel all of Yanny's gigs."

"Huh? Didn’t you just schedule them?"

"Are you deaf? Cancel all of them."

"… Never mind."

Cindy browsed through a property app and said, "Nine million bucks… you can take the money and buy a house."

Yanny liked the idea. "Come with me to view some properties tomorrow then."

"Yay!"

After that, Yanny fell silent for a long time.

Cindy knew that Yanny was not in a good mood. "I've never even seen nine million bucks before in my life. Now that you've gotten your hands on such a fortune, how about dinner and drinks on you tonight?" She joked.

"Sure."

After ending the call, she received a message from Spring, her manager.

"All your gigs are cancelled, Yanny."

Yanny fully expected that outcome. She was content with getting nine million bucks after that argument.

She would have to rely on herself from now on.

'Never mind. I'm used to being alone anyway.'

Yanny took a bath, which lasted more than two hours.

She looked at herself in the mirror and saw all the marks that Shayne left on her. She tried rubbing them off with her fingers, but they persisted, even when her skin was rubbed raw. The marks soon became more obvious.

Water continued to pour from the shower head. Yanny sat in the bathtub, hugged her knees, and cried.

Some things were not going to pass just like that.

.

Even after the marks on her body recovered, marks would still remain in her heart.
