Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1037

Yanny was not asleep when Shayne stepped out of the shower. She was waiting for him.

Shayne walked over to the bed. He was going to hug her when Yanny stretched out and started to unbutton his pajamas.

Shayne frowned and grabbed her hands. "What are you doing?"

"You want me to stay over tonight, so aren't we doing that?" She asked doubtfully.

Shayne's mood utterly changed in that instant. He tossed her hands away unhappily.

'Does she think that I'm that type of man?'

Shayne said coldly, "Get out."

"Shayne?" Yanny was confused.

"Get out. Didn't you hear me?"

It was very obvious that he was in one of his moods.

Yanny could not do anything else but get out of bed, put on her slippers, and walk toward the door.

"Close the door!" Shayne yelled rudely after Yanny stepped out.

Yanny did so obediently.

She remained rooted outside the door, wondering how she had angered Shayne.

'Is he unhappy that I took the initiative?

'Does he favor passive girls?'

The more she thought about it, the more baffled she became.

Samantha stepped out of her room for a drink and saw Yanny standing in front of her brother's room and asked, "Why are you standing there, Yanny?"

Yanny laughed awkwardly and pointed at the door. "I got driven out of the room…"

Samantha nearly choked on her water when she heard that. "Cough cough! How capable has my brother become to drive a woman out of his bedroom?!"

Yanny rubbed her neck. She did not mind it. "I'll sleep on the couch downstairs."

"We have guest rooms. It'll be uncomfortable sleeping on the couch."

Yanny could not be bothered to make the beds in the guest rooms. "Never mind. I'll just sleep downstairs for one night. I'm feeling a little hungry so I'll make supper."

Samantha's eyes sparkled upon hearing food. "I'll follow you downstairs, Yanny. I'm hungry too."

The fridge in the kitchen was stocked with ingredients. Yanny prepared sukiyaki.

"How sinful to eat sukiyaki in the middle of the night!" Samantha said as she slurped a mouthful of udon noodles.

"It's fine once in a while," Yanny said with a smile.

"I think so too." Samantha happily stuffed a cheese rice cake into her mouth.

Meanwhile, Shayne flipped around on his bed. He could not sleep at all.

'Did she actually get out when I told her to?'

Shayne got out of bed, stomped angrily on the floor barefooted, and opened the door to take a look.

From the second floor corridor, he could see the dining table below. Yanny and Samantha were happily eating supper while toasting each other with iced cold cola.

"…" Shayne was speechless.

He was inexplicably bothered by the fact that Yanny was not sitting there sulking and sobbing like a widow.

'Supper at this time? I hope you get fat.'

After supper, Samantha brought Yanny a blanket.

Yanny brushed her teeth, then wrapped herself up in the blanket and slept on the couch.

Considering that it was an imported luxurious couch, it was quite comfortable.

However, that was the first time Yanny spent the night in Shayne's mansion. Before this, Shayne had always gone over to the apartment at River Road to look for her.

In the unfamiliar environment, she did not sleep that well.

She started browsing on her phone and accidentally tapped on Whatsapp.

Late at night and alone, her mind started wandering to places that she never wished to return.

First love was like aged wine, intoxicating and nostalgic.

She was not fond of using Messenger when she was sixteen. Samuel thought the same. He said that it was troublesome to send files in Messenger. Whatsapp had more functions.

That was why Yanny and Samuel had always messaged each other on Whatsapp.

It should be early in the evening in England, where Samuel was.

Samuel's user name was grayed out. Perhaps he had stopped using the app.

Yanny curiously tapped on his profile page.

Samuel's profile was empty, save for several status updates, the last of which was several years ago.

One of them was about her.

It was a photo with her. The caption was brief, but it encapsulated their relationship.

[Girlfriend.] It read.

After that, he returned upstairs as though nothing happened.

In her dreams, Yanny could feel that someone had shoved her. She flipped over and continued sleeping.

The next morning, Samantha asked for her breakfast money from Shayne, took her backpack, and went to school.

By nine o'clock, Yanny prepared a sumptuous breakfast spread.

Shayne brought some documents from the study, went downstairs, and tossed them on the dining table.

He did not speak to Yanny, and pretended as though she did not exist.

While Yanny ate breakfast, she happened to glance at the contract that Shayne put on the table.

It was a contract between Jinn Group and Jacob Hardwood Company.

The Jacob family dealt with hardwood furniture. They were quite well-established, but when compared to Jinn Group, they were nothing but a small family business.

"Are you giving business to the Jacob family, Shayne?" Yanny did not beat around the bush.

She fixed her gaze on Shayne.

Shayne did not lift his head. He ignored her and continued eating breakfast.

Yanny clenched her fists. She had always borne resentment against the Jacob family, and even more so after Winson had extorted five million from her the day before.

Yanny's anger caused her to lose all civility and restraint.

She reached out to grab the contract, but Shayne immediately grabbed her wrist. "What are you doing?"

"Why are you giving business to the Jacob family, Shayne?"

Shayne glanced disdainfully at her tearful eyes. "Why, are you minding my business now?"

Yanny gulped and took a deep breath. "I don't think I have the right to do so, but I can't bear to see you collaborating with Jacob Company."

"Because you hate the Jacob family?"

"Yes, because I hate the Jacob family. I hate everyone in the Jacob family. I can accept whatever you want to do to me, but I cannot accept seeing you benefit the Jacob family."

"I can do whatever I want to you?" There was a hint of coldness in Shayne's smile.

Yanny reached out and unbuttoned the buttons on his shirt. "I know what you want, Shayne. You can do whatever to me, as long as you don't give the Jacob family any business."

Shayne stared coldly at her. His grip on Yanny's wrist became stronger, as though he wanted to crush her delicate bones into bits.

He was inexplicably angered by how lowly she treated herself and her body.

Shayne angrily tossed her hand away and glared at her. "Know your place, Yanny!"
