Noelle took a step forward, forcing Laura to step back in a panic.
Laura's eyes were filled with shock and horror. She wondered how Noelle managed to know about all of this.
Noelle smirked and said, "You're probably wondering how I found out, right? I just needed to do a little investigation, that's how.
"Besides, all of the executives that your family poached away, as well as the folks who participated in the project back then, were all willing to testify. It's over for you, Merlocks."
Ruth shouted, "Impossible! They would never testify!"
She had already bribed them all and made sure that they would never turn on the Merlocks.
Noelle looked at Ruth with a look of mockery. "Back then, it was you, Merlocks, who had lured and coerced them into working for you.
"But once you fully took over, you came up with excuses to fire every last one of them. Do you really think they didn't hold a grudge for that?"
It was all evidence that Jeremy had dug up for her. Noelle could not have even realized it herself. If everyone involved in the project back then were willing to testify, then the Merlock family's motives would become crystal clear.
Ruth's face turned deathly pale after hearing Noelle's words. She could barely even stay on her feet. Samantha hurried over to help support Ruth. "Mom, are you okay?"
After hearing everything, Samantha also realized that Ruth had really done all of those things back then.
She anxiously turned to Laura and said, "Laura, you gotta think of something! We can't just let our family go bankrupt and even let Mom go to jail!"
"Shut up! Do you think I'm a god or something? I can't fix everything!" Laura shouted.
She then turned to Ruth and continued, "Mom, why did you do it back then?"
If it had not been for what happened back then, the Merlock family would not be in such a miserable state right now.
Ruth slapped Laura on the face and screamed hysterically, "If it weren't for me, do you really think you could've lived like a spoiled princess for all these years?!"
