Noelle tapped on the chatbox and stared at it for a long time without sending a message.
Cedric had said he was at the hospital and hadn't come over since, so she wasn't sure if Emma's condition had worsened. Her mind was a complete mess, and no matter how she tried, she couldn't calm herself down. Right now, all she wanted was to be alone.
Tilly watched anxiously from the side and wasn't sure what to say. Outsiders only made things worse in matters like this.
The only person who could truly explain everything now was Cedric himself. Still, he hadn't shown up, and it was driving her crazy.
When the car arrived at the apartment, Noelle got out alone. She refused to return to the dorm and just wanted to be by herself.
After returning to the apartment, she went into the kitchen to pour herself some water, but memories of them in this spot came flooding back. All the gentleness Cedric had once shown remained vivid in her mind, and every sweet moment they'd had felt agonizing.
When she returned to her bedroom, her mind was in chaos. She closed her eyes, but all she could think about was what Xenia had said earlier.
Cedric had approached her on purpose from the very start, and he'd never liked her. He had just wanted to use her feelings to get Emma off the hook.
Noelle felt like she'd just woken up from a bizarre, absurd dream.
In the dream, Cedric admitted to everything and offered her a deal, with the only condition being to let Emma off. Noelle cried bitterly and grabbed his hand, asking, "Did you ever like me at all?"
Cedric just looked at her in silence without saying a word, and Noelle plunged into endless sorrow and despair.
When she woke up, her face was soaked in tears. She stayed in bed and stared into the pitch-dark night, her head spinning. Noelle felt exhausted, and she figured she might have caught a cold from not covering herself with a blanket while sleeping.
Then, she walked over to the window and noticed the air was cool. It seemed summer was over, and autumn had arrived.
