Noelle nodded. "That's right. What's wrong?"
Cedric replied, "I think Carl might know more clues than you do, but he's been hiding them."
She explained, "I know, but he's been staying on the island all this time. Everything he knows about what's happening outside is just hearsay, and he doesn't really understand much either."
She added, "If Ivy hadn't fled abroad with the money in the dream and then tried to restart her old schemes overseas, seeking collaborators on the island, Carl wouldn't have known that Ivy was the mastermind behind PZ Group."
As for what else Carl was hiding, she wasn't particularly interested. After all, those were things that happened after her death. She didn't care at all whether the Liddells regretted anything back then.
Cedric pulled Noelle into a hug, feeling slightly frustrated. "Once everything wraps up after the New Year, you won't have to keep putting yourself through similar situations anymore. I'll find a way to handle my mom's treatment."
Noelle said, "Okay... But let's not tell Mrs. Greene about this. I'm afraid she'll feel guilty."
Cedric's tone was firm as he replied, "My mom isn't that fragile. After everything you've sacrificed, how can we not let her know?"
Noelle looked up at him as he gently patted her head. He said, "Don't overthink it. She should know about this."
Noelle pressed her lips together. "Alright. I'll let you decide."
"Actually, we can't hide it anyway. If you didn't show up for New Year's and we don't explain clearly, they'll think there's trouble between us."
Noelle smiled, knowing well that it would likely happen. After all, both Emma and Anastasia cared deeply about her. They'd already agreed to spend New Year's together, so if she didn't show up for no reason, it would definitely worry them.
Cedric held Noelle's hand. "Nelly, meeting you is the luckiest thing that's ever happened to me."
