Donovan said, "I'm doing this for her own good. Now that we know Cedric was using her, why can't we outmaneuver him for once?"
Noelle cast a glance at the Liddells. "I don't need any of you interfering in my affairs. You'd better keep a close eye on Xenia unless you want the Merlock family to retaliate."
Xenia flinched, and a hint of fear crept into her voice. "What can the Merlocks even do to me? I've spoken to the police, and there's nothing they can do now."
"Do you think the Merlocks are fools? They'll want revenge, and if you end up in their control, no one can tell what's gonna happen to you."
Xenia shivered upon noticing the icy glint in Noelle's eyes. Yes, the Merlocks loved revenge, and if they made their move, she could never stand a chance.
It was only now that Xenia began to feel fear. She fell silent and shrank closer to Wyatt's side.
Noelle walked up to her and stared her down. "Tell me the truth. When Cedric took you to meet the Merlocks last night, what exactly was said?"
"I-I told you everything…" Xenia replied as a flicker of panic flashed in her eyes.
"You're lying," Noelle flatly stated.
Wyatt pushed Xenia aside. "Tell us the truth. Right now, the Liddells are the only people you can rely on. If I find out you've lied again, I'll throw you out myself."
Now, Xenia grew terrified. If the Merlocks retaliated, there was no way she could ever defend herself, so she finally gave in and confessed.
"Mr. Greene was trying to help his mom and show Mrs. Greene Mrs. Merlock's true colors, that she was trying to drag both families down together."
Even now, Xenia didn't tell the whole truth. She did not intend to reveal that Ruth had been manipulating Emma. If she admitted that, wouldn't it give Noelle and Cedric a chance to reconcile?
