Just the thought of Eugene on his knees and washing her feet sent Mia's heart racing.
Noelle advised her, "You need to be more confident. If he really ends up not liking you, then just find someone else."
Just then, the door to the apartment opened. Eugene walked in with several bags of groceries.
Mia and Noelle exchanged a look and dropped the conversation.
Noelle walked over to Eugene. "Do you need a hand? I used to cook back at the Liddell family, too."
Mia blushed and added, "I can wash the vegetables."
She couldn't cook at all. And there was no way she could even fake it.
Eugene placed the heavy bags down in the kitchen and turned to them. "Go sit. I'll handle it."
Noelle pulled Mia out of the kitchen, then looked back at the man bustling around.
She whispered to Mia, "I think he's perfect for you. Not only is he in great shape, but he can cook too. It's rare to find a man who's handsome and can cook."
Mia chuckled. "Aren't you worried Cedric will get jealous? I saw how Cedric's face turned sour from jealousy when you were talking to Eugene."
Noelle flushed red. "Who cares what he thinks?"
The two girls sat on the couch, giggling and whispering about their secrets.
Eugene could hear their laughter while he cooked in the kitchen. And the corners of his lips curved without him even realizing it.
Just as dinner was ready, Cedric walked through the door.
He immediately noticed the food set out on the table and gave Eugene, who was wearing an apron, a teasing glance.
Cedric washed his hands and made his way to the dining table. "Perfect timing."
Eugene didn't bother responding.
