No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 755

When Noelle saw Laura outside the elevator, her eyes widened. She hadn't expected the Merlocks to show up so quickly.

It was obvious that Laura was very worried about Ruth, but Noelle couldn't forget that she'd lost her parents at a very young age, and it was all because of the Merlock family.

She took the initiative to ask, "Ms. Merlock, I heard your mom's gone missing. Have you found her?"

Laura clenched her teeth upon hearing that but didn't respond to Noelle. Instead, she stepped forward anxiously and looked at Cedric.

"Mrs. Greene has arranged a search team for me. Can you come with me? Right now, you're the only person I can rely on."

Noelle saw the worry on Laura's face, along with the tears welling in her eyes. For some reason, guilt bubbled up inside her. After all, they'd kidnapped Ruth, and she was still in their hands.

Noelle glanced at Cedric. "Why don't you go with Ms. Merlock and help with the search?"

If Cedric were with Laura, he could perhaps keep an eye on things and make sure nothing slipped. But Cedric brushed off Laura and stepped forward. He took Noelle's hand and walked out of the elevator with her.

Noelle looked at Cedric beside her and couldn't help glancing back at Laura, only to be met with a pair of eyes burning with resentment and hatred.

Behind them, Laura shouted, "Ced, are you just going to abandon me at a time like this?"

She was breaking down. She hadn't expected Cedric to side with the bitchy Noelle, even at a time like this.

Noelle was just heading back to school, but Ruth was missing! Did her disappearance mean nothing compared to Noelle?

Noelle walked over to the car. Then, she looked at Cedric and asked, "If you don't go, won't it seem a little too deliberate?"

The Greene and Merlock families were on good terms, after all. Even if the engagement had been called off, they still had a close relationship.
