No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 742

"We haven't even started questioning him yet. We've been too busy trying to track the others down. But since you're here, we can start now," Cedric said, looking at her.

The truth was that Cedric had been waiting for Noelle. He wanted her to be there when the truth came out. Then, he glanced at one of his men, who quickly ripped off Thomas' blindfold and the gag.

Thomas blinked a few times, and when he saw Noelle, his expression changed instantly.

Noelle stepped forward. "You recognize me, don't you?"

Thomas stammered, "I-I don't know who you are."

"Still trying to deny it? You've been to the Liddell residence—and you killed the butler."

Thomas looked visibly shaken, and Noelle pressed as she stared him down, "You even met with Xenia. You're her uncle, aren't you? Where's Sean?"

"I don't know what you're talking about. Sean's been dead for years."

"Then who was the guy you were splitting the money with today?" She kept pressing, but the man dropped his head and stayed silent.

Cedric took her hand and pulled her back. "You don't need to be the one doing this. My team will get answers. Come on."

With that, he led her out of the warehouse—what was about to happen inside was not something she needed to witness. Not long after, screams echoed faintly from behind them, but they were quickly muffled until there was nothing left to hear.

Cedric held her hand tightly. Her palm was ice cold, and he looked at her with concern. "We'll find him."

"But now that he's been spooked, he won't show up easily," Noelle replied.

She was anxious and frustrated. She had waited so long for this day, only for him to slip away again. This made her feel completely powerless, and she beat herself up for not catching Sean.
