Wyatt stared at Xenia in shock. He couldn't believe his ears.
Xenia turned back to him disdainfully. "All that talk about fairness is bullshit. In the end, they still forced me to marry a cripple like you!"
The moment Wyatt heard the word cripple, he completely broke down. He shouted hysterically, "How dare you call me a cripple?"
It wouldn't have mattered if anyone else had said it. But hearing it from Xenia broke him.
Hadn't she told him days ago that he was the one she loved most? Why was she looking at him with such disgust now?
Noelle, who had been watching from the sidelines, snickered. "Wyatt, are you really that stupid?
"Xenia has been using you from the start. Do you really think she would've agreed to be with you if it weren't for what happened at the Cantrell family banquet if she hadn't been dumped by Justin?"
Xenia had always been into rich men, not someone like Wyatt, who was worthless in her eyes.
"Shut up!" Wyatt turned to Xenia, clinging to hope. "You're only saying this because you're mad about what Noelle did, right?"
Xenia looked at him coldly. "No. The video is real."
Wyatt snapped. He lunged at Xenia and wrapped his hands around her neck, screaming, "Why are you like this? I treated you like a princess, but you'd even sleep with some old man!"
Xenia kicked his prosthetic leg hard, and Wyatt collapsed helplessly onto the lawn.
She rubbed her sore neck and scoffed. "You've got nothing, and you dare say you treated me like a princess? You can't even support yourself. All you do is talk big!"
She was done pretending. All those promises to protect her and to make it up to her were nothing but empty words.
Donovan frowned. "Xenia, how could you do this? Wyatt has always treated you well. Of everyone in this family, you were treated the best!"
