Noelle smiled and explained, "It was a gift from Cedric, yes. I never wanted it, but he insisted for me to take it, so I don't have any other choice. Wyatt, maybe you should learn a thing or two from him."
Wyatt was fuming at how lucky Noelle was in life. "If I were as rich as Cedric, is there even anything that I can't buy?"
Noelle looked at him and replied, "So you're admitting that you're broke? That means you need to work harder. Xenia is currently managing a huge project for Donovan's company. If you don't achieve anything for yourself, you'll be known as a man living off his woman."
Wyatt's face darkened in an instant, and the look he gave Xenia was no longer as warm as it used to be.
He had not been in the best of mood lately, as Xenia had been working overtime continuously, sometimes to the point of not even going back home.
Who knew if she was really working late in the office?
Xenia glared at Noelle and pulled Wyatt aside to calm him down. She could not afford to let Wyatt ruin her plans just yet.
Only Noelle and Frank were left in the living room.
Frank turned to Noelle and said, "Noelle, do you know what the real reason Donovan is so fixated on the AI project is?"
"How would I know? It's probably just because the project has great potential, and everyone's trying to get a piece of the pie," Noelle replied.
"Noelle, what Blake and I are trying to say is that if you're willing to come back to the family, we'll support you in whatever it is that you want to do. You can be your own boss and won't have to rely on anyone else, not even the Greene family."
"You're wrong, Frank. I'm not relying on anyone."
"Noelle, I know that I've treated you unfairly for many years. Carl also knows about what's going on in the family, and he's called Donovan, telling him not to be biased against you. I want you to know that we're all on your side."
Noelle's gaze at Frank became filled with mockery. "You're saying that Carl called Donovan to plead for me?"
"That's right. Carl said that he's on your side, too. He won't let you suffer anymore in our family," Frank replied.
Noelle's eyes flashed with a hint of ridicule. She could still recall the immense pain from when she underwent surgery to remove her kidney in her past life.
She looked at Frank and replied, "Donovan said that he found some clues about the passengers in the car that caused the accident all those years ago, but he didn't want to tell me anything about it. If you want to make it up to me, Frank, you can go and ask Donovan about what those clues are."
"Don't worry, I will. But anyway, are you and Cedric really—"
