Noelle stared at the so-called older brother in front of her with an indescribable feeling in her heart. She smelled the scent of disinfectant on Carl and asked, "Did you get hurt?"
Carl touched his lower abdomen with a bitter smile. "It's just a minor injury. I had a fight with that man, you see."
Noelle frowned. "Let me see him. I want to talk things over with him myself."
She could not believe that she could have even fallen for a man like that.
Carl hesitated for a moment. "Why do you want to see him?"
He wondered if the drug's effect did not work out that well.
He had tested the drug again and again, but they were not done on Noelle herself. None of the test subjects had deep feelings for another person like the relationship between Cedric and Noelle.
That was why Carl was not exactly confident in the drug's capabilities. For now, all he could do was test for Noelle's reaction.
Noelle replied, "This is my business after all. I should be handling it myself."
She reckoned that she may have had feelings for that scumbag of a man once, but now that she was injured and had forgotten everything, she had no reason to still care about that man.
Carl smiled after hearing her reply. "You don't have to do this. You were never happy and lived in agony because of him. I don't want you to see him ever again."
"But—"
"Don't forget about your six older brothers. You don't have to worry about anything. Just leave it all to us."
Noelle pursed her lips and replied, "Alright. But just let me know if you need my help for anything. I'll do my best to help."
"Okay. Just stay here and rest up for the next few days, alright?"
