Mia spoke with casual indifference, but her words nearly drove Ivy mad. The latter glared at her and snapped, "Do you even have a conscience? He's your brother! How could you do this to him!"
"Why can't I? You're the reason my dad died, and I'm going to make you suffer. I want you to regret it and know exactly what that feels like!"
"You can't do this! He's your dad's child, too!" Ivy shot back, looking anxious.
Noelle shot Ivy a look and chimed in, "Never thought a woman like you would be capable of guilt."
Calming down, Ivy said, "No, you wouldn't kill him. Eason isn't dead, is he?"
Mia let out a cold laugh. "Of course, he's not. I never kidnapped or locked him up in the first place. He just didn't want to see you."
"That's impossible!" Ivy screamed as she stared at Mia. "Did you think I wouldn't know you're the ones who took him? No way he'd not want to see me!"
Mia calmly replied, "Because a mother like you suffocates and embarrasses him. He came back on his own accord and agreed to help me carry out this plan. He's known for a long time what kind of person you are and knows everything you've done."
Noelle added, "Someone like you has no right to call yourself a mother. Your son was never on your side."
"Shut up, both of you! Stop talking!" Ivy snapped. She glared at them, wide-eyed, and continued, "Give me back my son! Do you think you've won just by catching me? I've transferred the money away!"
Her expression twisted into that of a twisted smugness as she said, "Let's make a deal. Give me back my Eason, and I'll return some of the money based on a fair split."
