Xenia scoffed. That was ridiculous. She knew better than anyone what her biological mother looked like.
But if Noelle had sent Ivy, why would she warn her to stay quiet? That was unless Ivy had been telling the truth.
Xenia began to wonder if her biological mother could be someone else. Plus, Ivy certainly looked wealthy…
Right now, Sean seemed like the only person she could ask.
After cleaning up, Xenia immediately approached Barnaby and demanded. "I want to call Donovan. There's something I need to ask him."
But Barnaby coldly responded, "He instructed us not to let you use any communication devices. If you wish to leave, the door is over there, and we won't stop you."
"You're just a lowly butler! Even if you give me a phone, I'm only going to call Donovan. I'm not calling anyone else!"
Barnaby smiled and replied curtly, "Still no."
Furious, Xenia snapped, "I only want to call him because I need to see my father. Even if he's in prison, I have the right to visit him."
"If you truly want to visit him, you won't find him in prison because he's no longer there."
Xenia's eyes lit up. "Where is he? Has he been released?"
"He's dead. Most likely buried in a graveyard by now."
Colors drained from Xenia's face after hearing his words. "What? That's impossible! My dad was sentenced to life in prison, and he wasn't sick. How could he have suddenly died?"
"They say it was suicide."
"No way! My father would never commit suicide!"
