Mia glanced at Ivy's expression before turning to Noelle and saying, "Even so, you should apologize to Ivy, too."
Noelle kept a straight face as she replied, "Why should I?"
Ivy chimed in, "You've always had issues with me, Ms. Liddell. If it turns out you're wrong this time, can we put the past behind us?"
"I'll admit I was wrong as long as the money comes through." With that, Noelle turned and left angrily.
Mia watched her go and said to Ivy, "She seems upset."
"You're just too kind, Mia. Now, you're just losing all this money for the sake of a friend."
Mia lowered her head and murmured, "But she's my best friend, and I don't want to disappoint her."
Looking at Mia's passive, indecisive expression, she swallowed whatever advice she'd meant to give.
Fine. If Noelle could back off from targeting PZ Group once the money arrived, it'd be worth it. There would be plenty of opportunities for Mia to reinvest.
So, she said, "Alright then, get some rest. I'll be discharged today, and I'll visit another time."
There was no need for her to stay since things on Mia's side seemed stable. After Mia watched Ivy leave, her timid expression vanished, replaced by a cold look.
She lowered her head and typed a message on her phone, "The fish took the bait."
Noelle replied with the sticker. "Perfect."
Being the arrogant woman Ivy was, she looked forward to seeing Noelle admit she was wrong. That was the perfect chance to get Ivy to cough up the money.
As Noelle stepped into the elevator, she ran into Emma. Her heart ached upon seeing the pale look on the latter's face. Noelle walked up and gently asked, "Mrs. Greene, are you done with today's treatment? Was it rough?"
