Noelle's original plan was to pressure Ivy into coughing up some money. Jeremy continued on the phone, "We didn't make the wrong move, but we do need a backup plan."
"Got it."
After hanging up, she immediately contacted the PR team and informed them about what Jeremy had encountered at PZ Group that day.
"Understood, Ms. Liddell. We'll keep a close eye on this."
Hanging up, Noelle made up her mind that no matter what, she had to stop Ivy. Mia soon sent a message in the group chat. "Mr. Sulton called to tell me that the money will be transferred in three days."
Noelle replied, "That's great. I'll stop by after work and help you act out another scene. That might push Ivy to release the refunds a little faster."
"Great idea. Thank you both."
Mia knew that if she managed to get her money back from Ivy, it'd all be thanks to Noelle, who'd been suspicious of PZ Group from the beginning.
Eugene chimed in, "Mike has confessed everything. He detailed Ivy and her team's entire scam operation.
"I've handed the proof to Cedric's team. This will serve as critical witness testimony and physical evidence."
"That's amazing news."
Noelle felt reassured. Even if Ivy's underlings started to fall apart, they could catch the entire group and give the con artists the punishment they deserved.
…
After work, Noelle headed straight to the hospital and entered the ward to see only Mia. "Where's Eugene?" she asked.
"He stepped out to take a call. Additionally, PZ Group has agreed to process the refund, and the money will be received in three days. I'm starting to wonder if they're not con artists after all."
"We'll only know for sure once the money arrives. If it does, I'll admit you're right."
Ivy eagerly continued, "Since PZ Group agreed to refund, you should feel reassured now, right? There's no need to cancel the contract altogether. It'd be a shame to lose so much money."
Mia looked up at Noelle, who gave a soft cough and said, "No. We'll wait until the money is received. That's the only way to prove the company is legit."
"Ms. Liddell, PZ Group is already processing the refunds, so they aren't scammers. You're making groundless accusations while Mia has lost a significant amount of money. As her best friend, don't you think that's unfair?"
Hearing Ivy's words, Noelle sneered. Sure enough, Ivy was a top con artist, through and through.
If she and Mia weren't so close and had such solid trust in each other, Ivy's words might have successfully driven a wedge between them.
Noelle annoyedly replied, "Like I said, I'll admit I was wrong if the money comes through."
Ivy's expression flickered. "Are you saying you'll publicly admit your mistake if the refund arrives?"
"Of course. Money in the account will mean that I misjudged, so I'll take responsibility and apologize for it."
