The next day, Noelle woke up and reached for her phone right away.

Cedric immediately held down her hand and nibbled on her ear. "Didn't you say that you were exhausted last night? Why are you up so early?"

Noelle dodged him by shrinking her neck back. "I want to check on the news."

Cedric's voice was hoarse, and his hand placed in front of her body was scorching hot. "There's no rush."

She pressed down on his wandering hand and replied, "I am in a rush, though."

Noelle continued her struggle to retrieve her phone, determined to see the news for the day. He had no choice but to let her be.

Finally regaining her freedom, Noelle turned to the side to look at her phone with her back pressed against his broad chest. The heat from his body continued to scorch her a little.

Cedric's hand was tightly wrapped around her waist. He subconsciously moved his hands upward slightly before stopping.

Noelle was blushing as she unlocked her phone. She then immediately saw the trending headline: 'Former number one socialite now the mastermind of a pyramid scheme?'

She tapped into the article and, sure enough, found thorough coverage analyzing Laura's recently announced investments, concluding that she was running a Ponzi scheme.

Comments quickly poured into the article.

Someone commented, "My dad has been talking about nothing except for this investment project recently. He has already invested his entire pension fund in it, and he's even planning to sell our house to fund it as well. He's lost his mind!"

"All these investment opportunities that promise high returns are suspicious as hell."

"If an offshore company like this crashes with the money already moved overseas, there's no way to get it back."

The comment section usually only needed a little push for public opinion to ignite like wildfire.

When Noelle saw that most people could tell that the investment project was a scam, she knew that their plan had worked.

She then checked on Laura's social media accounts and saw that Laura had posted some photos from last night's party.

Noelle felt the change in his body. She also noticed the heated look in his eyes. She had to admit that men really were much more energetic early in the morning.

Later, Noelle kicked him lightly and said, "Aren't you supposed to be busy? Don't you need to go to work?"

Cedric grabbed her foot and replied, "I'd rather stay here with you."

He then reached out to pull Noelle back into his arms once more. "Just a little longer."

Noelle struggled a little and replied, "I've had enough sleep already. I want to get out of bed now."

Cedric squinted his eyes. "Didn't you just say that you were tired? Were you lying to me?"

There was no way he would have let her go so easily if that were not the case.
