But alas, Ivy's plans were, for once, being halted by Noelle.
Noelle was supposed to be kicked out of the Liddell family by her brothers, and Xenia would have taken her place, growing up as the Liddell family's little princess.
Everything had been progressing according to plan, but Noelle had ruined everything just before the college entrance exams.
Owen spoke up. "Boss, Noelle used to do just as we had planned, but she seemed to have suddenly changed as a person at some point. I think it's rather strange."
Ivy replied, "There's nothing strange about it. Cedric was working as the school doctor at Noelle's high school at the time. He had most likely helped her out a lot and helped make her wake up from continuing to be abused by her family."
She gritted her teeth and continued, "We could've been able to deliver a serious blow to the Greene family with our plan, but they, along with the other powerful families close to them, refused to work with us, let alone invest their money, all because of Noelle."
Everything that was happening now was because of Noelle.
Ivy chuckled and added, "Whatever, it's fine. I will torture Noelle one step at a time until she loses everything in life and suffers for the rest of her life."
Owen replied, "Anyone and everyone who offended you will never end up well after all. You're akin to that of a god that controls everything from behind the curtains."
Ivy then revealed a look of smugness and pride. She caught sight of a silhouette flashing past the door the moment she turned around, and her expression shifted drastically. "Who's there?!"
Owen quickly rushed toward the door and opened it with a look of hostility. But when he saw it was just a young boy, his expression immediately softened. "Eason? What are you doing here at the door?"
Ivy put on a gentle expression upon seeing Eason. "Did I scare you, Eason? Come in."
Eason entered the room and looked up at Ivy. "Mom, let's just go back abroad and never come back again."
