The bouncer explained, "Sorry, but the entire place was booked for tonight. We're only accepting invited guests."

Noelle did not expect this to happen. Just then, Cedric took out an invitation and handed it over.

The bouncer took a look at the invitation and gave Cedric a card with a number on it. "Welcome."

Noelle was confused. As they headed inside, she asked with surprise, "You even have an invitation letter? Did Laura give it to you?"

Cedric explained, "I just had a friendly talk with a friend who was invited, and they gave the invitation letter to me."

"Are you sure that it was just friendly talk?"

"Or was it a threatening one?" She wondered.

He looked down at her and replied, "You could say that I'm doing them a favor."

Noelle nodded. "That's fair. Let's go in and see what Laura's up to then."

She was genuinely curious. Noelle then walked into the hall with Cedric. She was expecting some sort of high-end event, but inside the venue were just rows upon rows of seats that looked more like an auction venue.

They looked for their seats according to the number on their assigned cards while more and more guests continued to arrive.

Noelle whispered, "This doesn't look like a party at all. It's more like a meeting of sorts."

Cedric also found it odd. It did not look anything like a high-end party at all. "We'll see soon enough."

More arrived over time. They noticed that everyone seemed to be quietly discussing with one another.
