Noelle was shocked when she saw Jeremy.

She had no idea as to why he would be here.

Jeremy looked at Cyrus and said, "Unfortunately for you, Ms. Mia had signed a similar contract with me not long ago. She also requested that her contract with you be voided."

Cyrus' expression shifted instantly. "That's impossible. Ms. Mia trusts me more than anyone else. Why would she look for a different lawyer?"

Salena chimed in, "That's right, Mia trusts Mr. Mayall here the most. He was a lawyer assigned to her by her own father!"

Jeremy explained, "I figured that none of you will believe me on the get go, so I brought along a video evidence. It's already been notarized, by the way."

He played the video on his phone, and it showed Mia speaking directly to the camera about how she was appointing Jeremy to be her lawyer.

Cyrus' expression turned grim. He began to wonder if Mia had been suspecting him all along.

There was no reason for Mia to reassign everything to a different lawyer otherwise.

Jeremy put away his phone and continued, "Are we clear yet?"

Salena was still unconvinced. "What proof do you have to show that the contract and the video evidence to be true? I don't believe that Mia would do something like this."

Cyrus chimed in, "That's right, Ms. Mia trusted me more than anyone else."

Noelle sneered. "She trusted you back then, yes, but what you're doing now is clearly a betrayal of her trust."

Cyrus fell silent and turned to look at Salena. At that point, only someone from the Cantrell family had the right to speak.

Salena remained as haughty as ever. "I'll have that contract authenticated later. But for now, I must take Mia away."

Noelle scoffed and replied, "In your dreams! Try all you want!"

Salena gritted her teeth in anger. "Noelle, are you really going to stop me?"

Noelle stared at Salena and replied, "Isn't it obvious? Besides, I have Mia's appointed lawyer on my side. No matter how you look at it, I have every right to stop you."
