No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1089

When Noelle saw Cedric lying beside her, she was completely dumbfounded. What was going on? Why was he here, too?

She tried to recall what had happened last night. All she remembered was that after seeing Grace and the others off, she had continued drinking.

She must have drunk too much after that. And it seemed Cedric had come by and stopped her from drinking more. After all, they had agreed to go visit her parents' grave together that evening.

She hadn't expected to get drunk. But Noelle had absolutely no recollection of what happened after. She looked down and saw she was wearing a nightgown.

Who changed her clothes? She didn't have to guess.

The heat rose to her cheeks. Alcohol really spelled trouble.

"Are you awake?" A low voice sounded next to her ear, followed by a pair of arms settling on her waist.

Noelle kept her head down, not daring to look at him. She could feel his warm chest pressed against her back, comforting in the autumn chill.

She blushed. "I got drunk last night. Otherwise, we would've already gone back."

Cedric mumbled, "It's not too late to go today. Your parents wouldn't blame you for it if they knew."

"But I wanted to tell them the good news early. I got too happy and drank more than I should have." Noelle looked up at him. "I didn't do anything crazy while drunk, right?"

Cedric narrowed his eyes. "You really don't remember anything?"

"I don't." She looked serious and a little dazed.

Seeing her innocent look, Cedric finally said, "We're lying on the same bed. What do you think happened last night?"
