Frank stared at Carl in front of him. He could not shake the feeling that Carl had become even more unhinged than before.
Carl brushed Frank's hand away. "It's my own business, Frank. You don't have to care. I know what I'm doing."
"Carl, don't do anything stupid, alright? Just wait until the trial is over. If something goes wrong and they catch on to you, how are we supposed to explain that to Noelle?" Frank replied.
Lucas chimed in, "Yeah, Carl. From Noelle's perspective, none of us brothers are of much help to her other than dragging her down. I really don't want to see her look at us like how she did earlier ever again."
Xenia had died on the operating table because of Wyatt. The rest of the brothers should, at the very least, learn something from this.
Carl's nonchalant expression morphed into a look of mockery. "You guys really have no idea what's on her mind. As soon as the trial is over, she will no longer even bother with any of us."
Frank smiled bitterly. "I know that already. We made a lot of mistakes back then. It's only natural that she's angry at us."
Blake pursed his lips together and then said, "We're at fault for everything that happened back then. I believe everything will finally be over once the trial has ended. Noelle will gradually stop being angry with us after enough time has passed."
Frank nodded. "Yeah, I think so, too. We're family, after all. Once the trial is over, Noelle will slowly but surely start to forget about all of this, and she'll stop holding it against us."
Carl did not agree with them. "What's the point of just sitting around and waiting for our demise?"
Frank was surprised. "Do you have a better idea?"
He had to figure out just what Carl was planning to do so that he could stop him in advance. He could not afford to let Noelle feel that she had been betrayed by her own brothers again.
Carl replied confidently, "Of course I do."
"What is it?"
Carl did not elaborate on his plan. "You'll know once the trial is over. Now's not the time to talk."
Blake was delighted. "Carl, do you really have a way to get Noelle to come back to the family and reconcile with us?"
"Yes. We can go back to the way things used to be," Carl replied.
