Ruth collapsed back onto the chair as she realized that there was nothing she could say to help herself now. She did not expect Emma to find out about the poisoning so quickly.
Ruth snorted and said, "You sure paint yourself in a good light. What do you mean that you've been looking after me for all these years?
"It was clearly you that has been playing tricks on me all along to make sure I'm always in your shadow. Otherwise, I would've been the one who married into the Greene family, not you! You should be the one who should be in my miserable state right now!"
It was clearly Emma who had stolen everything from her, and yet Emma was now mocking her for it all.
Cedric spoke up from the side. "My father never liked you in the first place. If anything, he even despised you. He knows about all the pathetic tricks you've pulled back in the days."
Ruth looked extremely shaken. She muttered, "How is that possible?"
She then turned to Emma and said, "It must've been you! You must've slandered me! I knew it!
"I've always wondered why he chose you even though I was the one who met him first. You're the toxic friend between us! You're the one who stole everything from me!"
Emma's expression remained unchanged even after listening to Ruth's ranting.
She just responded with a mocking smile. "What do you mean I stole everything from you?"
"Isn't that just the truth?" Ruth asked.
Emma replied, "You've always been a mediocre woman. You have no real skills, and you look just as plain as any other woman.
"You're overly ambitious yet incapable of fulfilling your ambition yourself. You're always trying to get everything for yourself, and when you can't get it, you would just resort to dirty tactics."
Ruth was getting frustrated. "You're just speaking nonsense! I was better than you in every way, shape, or form! You're the one who had to pull dirty tricks!"
