No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 188

York stared at Claudia, his eyes filled with disbelief.

He asked in a low, tense voice, "Claudia, when did you become so manipulative?"

Claudia smiled at him.

"I learned from you," she said.

They stared at each other, standing close.

York was struggling to keep his composure.

He had never imagined that Claudia would one day say something like this to him with a smile. She had always been proactive, obedient, and innocent in his presence.

But now, she was either sensitive and suspicious like a hedgehog, or listless and uninterested in anything.

And now, she was putting on a compliant facade while scheming behind his back.

Claudia's eyelids were heavy with sleep. She asked York, "Are you done?"

Fueled by anger, York snapped at her, "No!"

Claudia pouted and slumped onto the sofa. "Then continue."

This was the first time York had ever raised his voice at her. How novel.

York knew Claudia was upset.

But he couldn't let her continue down this path.

He pointed at the pile of stuffed animals. "Where did all this junk come from?"

Claudia propped her head up with her hand, her elbow resting on the back of the sofa. She didn't try to hide anything. "Master Sayer won them from a claw machine."

Master Sayer?

York tilted his head back and took a deep breath.

She actually had the nerve to admit it.

Seeing she wasn't moving, York picked it up and glanced at the screen.

It was a message from Rock Sayer.

It read: Claudia, the pillow you bought for me is a bit too high. I want to video call you while I drift off.

York's expression was beyond grim.

He asked her, "A doctor buying a pillow for her patient? Claudia, don't you think you're going too far?"

Claudia remained on the sofa, refusing to look up.

Furious, York sat down and grabbed her by the shoulders.

Claudia slid into his arms.

York looked down and realized she had fallen asleep.

He stared at her sleeping face, his own expression dark. Coming home at three-thirty in the morning, clutching dolls given to her by another man. The moment he spoke harshly, she put on that 'I don't care anymore' act. If things kept on like this, their home would fall apart sooner or later.
