No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 189

Claudia slept until ten the next morning.

Remembering what she had promised Rock Sayer the night before, she got out of bed to wash up.

When she came out into the living room, dressed and ready, she noticed the pile of stuffed animals she had brought home was gone.

Just then, York emerged from his study.

Claudia asked him, "Where are the toys I brought home last night?"

York replied, "Those toys breed germs, so I got rid of them for you."

Claudia flared up instantly. "What gives you the right to throw away my personal belongings?"

York's tone was calm. "This is my house. I have the right to dispose of anything in it."

Claudia fell silent.

His words were harsh, but he was right.

In this house, even she herself was just a cover for his shame, an object to be dealt with as he pleased, let alone anything else.

Seeing her silence, York walked over to her.

He spoke in the most even tone he could muster. "As your husband, I'm responsible for you. I feel it's necessary to remind you again: Rock Sayer is a very unstable person. You should keep your distance from him."

Just as he finished speaking, Claudia's phone rang.

She glanced at York, then corrected him. "No matter how unstable Master Sayer is, he's still my patient. He's my bread and butter."

With that, Claudia turned to answer the call.

York's face darkened as he listened to her arrange a time and place to meet Rock Sayer.

A moment later, Claudia grabbed her purse, ready to leave.

York reminded her, "Aren't you forgetting something?"

York got up and went into the walk-in closet.

At noon, he returned to Ferguson Mansion alone.

Wendy asked him, "York, why didn't Claudia come back with you?"

York gave a smooth excuse. "She had an emergency consultation and couldn't make it."

This time, Sewell was full of praise for Claudia. "It seems that girl really knows what she's doing. I saw the video from the press conference. Her ability to control the situation was impressive. A true heiress."

Sewell said to his son, "York, this whole affair should have made things clear to you. Whether it's people or situations, you need to get your priorities straight."

York didn't speak, merely nodding with a neutral expression.

Old Mr. Ferguson then reminded him, "The Grandeur Group's annual gala is on the second of the month. The Old Madam personally invited that girl last time and she couldn't make it. This time, you bring her along."

York left Ferguson Mansion a little after two in the afternoon and went to pick up Ann's son from his tutoring class.
