Xavier really loved Willow.

Jasper looked at Xavier who was dejected. “Are you giving up on the company you just started? Why don’t you work harder instead of being sentimental.”

Xavier placed his glass on the table while looking slightly tipsy. “I came here to talk to you because I was having a hard time. I’m going to work now. See you, Uncle Jaz.”

He got up and left.

Jasper finished the red wine that Xavier had just poured for him and went back to his desk to start working.

Willow was browsing online for a job that pays better when someone called her to invite her for an interview.

It was from the company that she had submitted her resume last night.

That company was new in Buscen City and they were hiring for many positions currently.

Willow was ecstatic when she heard that she was going to interview for the position of secretarial assistant.

In the afternoon, she put on light makeup and dressed up in her old business suit.

She left home excitedly.

Although the company was new, it was a medium-sized enterprise.

It was nothing compared to a multinational corporation like Hughes Corporation, but it wouldn’t be bad for Willow to work at the secretarial department here.

Willow entered the meeting room and there were three interviewers in total, two men and a woman. All of them were dressed in business suits.

Willow sat across them and felt a little nervous.

The woman looked at her resume and asked, “You went to Buscen University for two years but didn’t graduate. Why is that?”

Xavier thought that the trauma she was talking about was brought on by him.

He had been set up by Samantha and he had betrayed Willow.

Although Willow had initiated the breakup, she must have been so depressed that she had to drop out of school.

Xavier was sure about it.

His hands were slightly shaking.

In the room, Willow’s interview continued.

The woman asked her again, “You worked as a secretary at Hughes Corporation for one day. Why did you leave?”

Willow couldn’t answer the question. She couldn’t just say that she got fired by asking Jasper to choose between marrying her or giving her some of Hughes Corporation’s shares.
