Willow left after saying that.
Her relationship with Xavier had been destroyed that night five years ago.
His betrayal and her dreadful encounter made them doomed to never be together again.
Xavier’s smile dropped and he felt a pain in his chest when he saw her walk away.
He hadn’t forgotten about her for a single day in the past five years.
He studied hard abroad and worked hard just to return as a successful man.
He wanted to stay by her side and make her feel secure.
He wanted her to look at him in a different light.
However, it seemed like Willow was never bothered about his success.
Her attitude made Xavier feel dejected. He couldn’t accept the fact that Willow was over him as he left in sadness.
When he reached the CEO’s office at Hughes Corporation, he saw Jasper drinking wine alone on the sofa.
He sat across Jasper with a grim face and poured himself a glass of wine. He lamented, “Uncle Jaz, do you think she really doesn't love me anymore? I’ve looked for her twice and she’s unwilling to talk to me.”
Xavier drank the whole glass of red wine.
Jasper shook the wine glass in his hand gently. The red liquid reflected on his knuckles and in his eyes.
He scoffed. “We can never understand how a woman thinks.”
After saying that, he also finished the wine in his glass.
Xavier knew there was something hidden in Jasper’s words. He asked curiously, “Uncle Jaz, do you have someone you like too? There’s even someone you can’t handle?”
However, Willow didn’t appreciate it.
She would rather resign and pay two hundred thousand dollars for compensation.
Since she wanted to leave so badly, there was no point for Jasper to force her.
Xavier saw Jasper staring at the empty wine glass, he poured some wine in it without saying anything.
He poured some for himself too.
“Uncle Jaz, that woman was playing hard to get. You’re perfect. Unless she had someone else in her heart, she wouldn’t let a man like you slip away. She’s not stupid.”
Xavier finished his wine again. His heart ached when he thought of Willow.
"Uncle Jaz, I'm really sad. I was set up five years ago and my girlfriend broke up with me. She won’t forgive me to this day. I really love her.”
