RYAN’S POV
“So that’s it… I can’t believe I didn’t know Alpha King George that way,” Dad said after I told them everything. Mom just sighed and shook her head, her face still pale with disbelief.
I checked the time and saw it was already too late into the night, and Anna hadn’t returned from her room nor had she eaten.
After what happened in her room, after seeing her naked body, I made a mental note not to go back there because honestly, I couldn’t trust myself.
Especially when it came to Anna. She was my weakness.
I had gone back to my room to take a cold shower, trying so hard not to touch myself, and I was glad when Dad called for a talk. It took every bit of willpower I had, and I was thankful he’d called at the right time.
“So what do you plan to do?” Dad asked, his voice calm but heavy, as if he was trying not to show how much it worried him.
“I plan to deal with him mercilessly, Dad.”
“How so?” he asked again, raising an eyebrow.
I gritted my teeth. “I’ll tear him apart. He should just watch his back,” I said coldly. “He’s the reason Anna’s parents are dead, and the reason she lost our baby and her memories. I can’t let it go. I don’t care if he’s the Alpha King or not–I’ll tear him apart.” I could feel the anger tightening my chest, making it hard to breathe.
“Son…” Dad started, his voice quiet.
“Dad, please don’t ‘son‘ me,” I snapped. My fists clenched, and I could feel my pulse throbbing in my temples.
“I know, I know,” he said quickly. “And I understand. But he’s strong, Ryan.”
“He might be strong, Dad, but I don’t care. I’m stronger. I’ll face him alone.”
Dad stared at me for a moment before nodding slowly. “I’ll support you,” he said, patting my shoulder. “I’ll give you all the help you need, son.”
“Thanks, Dad,”
Mom looked at me with pride in her eyes. “I’m glad you don’t underestimate yourself,” she said. “You’re stronger than you think, Ryan. You can take down anyone, even an Alpha King, if you truly want to.”
I smiled faintly. “Thanks a lot, Mom.”
She smiled back but her expression softened a second later. “By the way… where’s Anna?”
“I’m here,” Anna’s voice came from behind us. We all turned, and she was standing on the stairs, her expression unreadable.
“Speak of the devil,” Dad said, chuckling under his breath.
She didn’t laugh. She just stood there, looking at us with a calmness that didn’t match the look in her eyes. Something was off.
“What’s wrong, baby?” Mom asked gently.
Anna shook her head. “Ryan, please… can I talk to you?” she said softly.
“Huh? Are you sure?” I asked, confused by her tone.
She didn’t reply. She turned around and started walking up the stairs. I exchanged a quick look with Mom and Dad before following her. I watched her walk straight into my room and close the door halfway.
“Anna…” I called, stepping in and shutting the door behind me.
She turned around, her voice sharp. “I was pregnant. For you.” 1
The words hit me like a punch to the chest. My body froze, and for a second, I couldn’t breathe. “Anna… have you remembered everything?” I asked, my voice shaking just slightly.
“I asked you a question first, Ryan,” she said, looking straight at me.
