As Theodore’s voice rang out, Logan’s eyes snapped to his face. What he saw made his blood freeze. Theodore’s eyes were bright, alert, and completely restored. He was healed
Theodore eyes widened, “You
“I came here today mainly to introduce my wife to you. After all, no matter what’s happened between us, you’re still my father.”
Theodore’s gaze shifted to Eliana, his cold tone softening instantly, “Honey, say hello.”
Eliana glanced quickly at Logan, then leaned toward the microphone. “Dad”
Only then did Logan seem to notice Eliana. His face darkened as he stared at her. After a long pause, he said, “This is impossible”
Theodore looked back at him. “Are you saying it’s impossible that my eyes are healed, or impossible that I got married?”
“Both Logan screamed internally.
Theodore watched Logan’s eyes rapidly fill with blood, then spoke slowly, “I still remember what you told me that exposing you was unforgivable, that I was destined to die alone. Well, look at me now. I have my company and my wife. Seems like you miscalculated.
Lainey couldn’t stand listening anymore. “Are you here just to provoke your father?”
Theodore simply smiled at this.
That smile became the final trigger for Logan’s explosion. Theodore had caused him to go to prison, yet he could still smile carelessly!
Logan snapped, “You ungrateful son! Do you remember that I’m here because you turned me in?”
“Of course. You were using the company for arms smuggling and drug trafficking back then. If I hadn’t reported you, you wouldn’t be here for voluntary surrender. You’d have been arrested.”
As Theodore’s words hung in the air, everyone except Eliana and Jayden fell into memories of the past.
They all remembered how Logan had been led astray by a friend’s influence years ago. If Theodore hadn’t reported him in time, allowing him to receive lenient treatment, prison would have been the least of his problems.
But despite this, Logan and Lainey still harbored hatred for Theodore’s ruthlessness and even more for how he had torn their family apart.
Logan especially hated that Theodore had cut off his money flow. He could have gotten away with it all back then. He had valued Theodore’s abilities and brought him in to help plan everything, never expecting Theodore to turn around and sell him out.
Lainey’s situation was even worse. After losing Logan, her status in the family plummeted. She was reduced to waiting for Theodore to finish eating before she and the children could sit down for meals.
She couldn’t hold her head up among her friends anymore, avoiding larger gatherings out of fear of being mocked.
Jayden, who knew nothing about the past, felt his worldview crashing down with Theodore’s revelation.
Logan’s towering image in his mind began to crumble as he whispered, “Daddy, is this true?”
Hearing this, Lainey quickly turned him to face her. “Don’t listen to him! That’s not what happened
Jayden asked hesitantly, “Then what did happen?”

Chapter 296
Lainey’s eyes flickered. “Your father was betrayed by bad friends who framed him!”
Theodore looked down at her. “So you’re saying someone else planted those guns and drugs in the Russell Group warehouse? That my father had nothing to do with it?”
Lainey’s guilt showed, but she stubbornly insisted, “Yes, that’s exactly what happened!”
Theodore let out a sneer. “If you want him to live in a fairy tale forever, you shouldn’t have brought him here today”
That comment made Lainey explode. “How was I supposed to know you’d show up? I just wanted the kids to see their father today, to let Logan enjoy some family time. That’s all.
“Why do you have to ruin everything? My wishes are already so small, and you’ve already destroyed this family completely. What more do
you want?”
“How
v dare you blame Theodore?” Eliana, who had been silent until now, suddenly spoke up.
“This is our family business! You better stay out of it!” Seeing Logan gave her back her confidence, Lainey found the courage to get
aggressive.
Eliana sneered, “You’re just mad that Theodore reported Logan’s crimes, aren’t you? But Logan was the one who got into business, he had no right touching!”
She continued, “Once that stuff hits the market, do you have any idea how much damage it causes? Logan’s lucky he didn’t get the death penalty. What exactly are you complaining about?”
Lainey’s face twisted with rage. “What did you just say?”
Eliana didn’t want to bring up such dark topics on what should have been a reunion day, but facts were facts.
Lainey spoke through gritted teeth. “You actually dare curse Logan!”
Eliana pressed her lips together. “I just can’t stand watching you condemn someone who actually saved the Russell family’s reputation, while ignoring the people who really screwed up!”
She continued, “If Theodore hadn’t done what he did back then, every time someone mentioned Russell Group, all they’d think of would be smuggling and drug dealing. Aren’t you afraid people would point fingers and curse you behind your backs?”
Lainey’s face flushed with anger. “Shut up! Logan has suffered enough in that place all these years!”
“So just because Logan’s in prison now, that makes him look more pitiful?” After a pause, Eliana continued, “What if the people hurt by those guns and drugs were here crying about their suffering. Would you feel sorry for them too?”
Barbara and Jayden both looked thoughtful. She was right–they always felt bad for Logan being in prison, but they’d forgotten about the people who got hurt even worse.
