Julian’s every move was poised and effortless, full of the bearing of someone born to lead.
Timothy couldn’t help but sigh. This marriage between their children was truly a pity. On the way over, he and Heather had asked Willow. Willow had no intention of getting back together. She said there was no point in salvaging it.
If that were the case, then this would just be a proper farewell dinner with everyone parting ways with dignity.
During the meal, Timothy casually chatted, but the underlying message was clear.
How could someone like Julian not catch on? But he didn’t let it show. He kept gently serving Willow food. “This salmon is your favorite. Dad ordered it, especially for you. Eat up. You look like you’ve lost weight.”
Willow frowned. “I can take it myself.”
Julian remained considerate. “Tell me what you want, I’ll get it for you.”
His shamelessness made Liam and Nancy break into a cold sweat. Timothy was even a little impressed. Julian really knew how to play humble when it counted. He was ruthless in his own way.
As the dinner was hitting its stride, a commotion came from outside the private room. It sounded like someone was looking for
Willow.
Liam stepped out to check. “Who is it?”
Then, he froze. It was Charlie and Nancy.
While Liam stood there stunned, the couple barged in. As soon as they saw Willow, Charlie teared up. “Willow, you have to save your or sister. If you’re willing to donate a kidney, Alicia can live a healthy life.”
Everyone was still in a daze when Charlie excitedly announced, “It’s a match! Willow’s kidney can be transplanted to Alicia.
“Willow, Alicia will always love and respect you. And if you ever have health issues, Alicia will take care of you.., You can count on
that.”
Willow set down her spoon and sneered. “What does her illness have to do with me?”
Charlie’s expression changed. “But you signed a donor form! You were willing to donate to strangers. How can you refuse your
own sister?”
Willow’s tone became even more contemptuous. “That was for accidental donation, not cutting one out while I’m alive. Anyway, I don’t have a sister. You’ve got the wrong person.”
Charlie never imagined she would respond like this. He thought family was supposed to help each other. Before he could say more, Nancy started crying and yelling, accusing Willow of being heartless.
Melanie, who adored Alicia, couldn’t hold back. “If she’s your real sister, you should save her.”
Liam glared at her. “Don’t get it twisted.”
Before the words even settled, Heather was already on her feet.
She looked around at everyone in the room with a sneer on her face. Then, she walked straight over to Charlie and Nancy and slapped them both hard. “That’s for being heartless.”
Then, she turned to Melanie.
Melanie thought she wouldn’t dare hit her, thinking her status would protect her.
However, a mother defending her child had no such fear.

Heather slapped Melanie square across the face. “That’s for not knowing right from wrong. Willow lived with the Ziegler family for years. Do you have any idea how much she suffered because of ou?”
After the slaps, Heather raised her voice, enunciating every word,Let me make this clear right here and now. Willow will not give her kidney or a single drop of blood.
“Anyone who lays a hand on Willow is laying a hand on me. If that happens, I swear I’ll tear them apart. I’ll drag them down to the depths of hell.” 1
Everyone present was stunned into silence.
