Alicia returned to the hospital. As soon as she pushed open the door to her room, Charlie looked overjoyed.

“Alicia, we found a suitable kidney match. It’s your biological sister. She signed a voluntary donor form a few years ago and gave a sample. We didn’t expect it to be a match!

“Ah, our family’s finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I talk to your sister and ask her to donate a kidney to you. Alicia, you’re going to be healthy again.”

Alicia forced a smile. “She might not agree.

Nancy quickly scolded her daughter, “What kind of sister wouldn’t save her own sibling? Catherine gave so much to you without hesitation. If Catherine could do it, then she should, too.”

Alicia leaned back against the bed, looking delicate and weak. “I’m just worried Julian will have a hard time with it.”

Charlie thought for a moment and spoke in a calm tone, “Julian’s always been deeply devoted to you. He’ll be on your side. As for Willow, we’ll make it up to her in other ways. Just wait for this healthy kidney with peace of mind.”

Nancy was all smiles.

Still, Alicia hesitated.

Charlie saw this and instinctively felt that Alicia was kind and thoughtful, far better than Willow. But deep down, the one he most wanted to love and protect was still Willow. (1)

Willow wouldn’t answer Julian’s calls or see him. So, Liam stepped in.

He personally called Timothy, suggesting that since the kids were having issues, maybe both families should sit down and talk it through. It was better to clear things up than let them hang in the air, affecting their careers.

Timothy thought about it carefully. It made sense.

Late at night, after an intense round of intimacy, he brought it up while they lay in be,d catching their breath. Timothy told his wife about the idea.

Heather thought it over and agreed. She was willing to settle things with the Ziegler family.

The next day, Liam got the go–ahead and was thrilled.

He called Victoria and gave instructions after a pause, “Book the best private room at Vanderbilt for tonight. I’m hosting important guests. I need ten seats. Go with the top–shelf wine list. Also, be sure to order the steamed salmon. Willow loves it.”

Victoria smiled. “Got it, Mr. Ziegler.”

After settling everything, Liam slapped his thigh. “I can’t believe Timothy gave me this courtesy. I’ve really put my pride on the line for Julian.”

Thanks to Liam’s coordination, both families had dinner together at Vanderbilt at 7:00 pm that night.

Since the Ziegler family was hosting, they arrived at 6:30 pm.

In the elegant private room, Julian held a teacup with his long fingers. He looked calm, sipping slowly, but in truth, he was

anxious.

Liam refilled his cup. “Have a proper talk later. But Julian, I think you need to take a stand when it comes to that Burke woman.

Just then, the private room door opened. A server led the Chapman family of three in. “Mr. Ziegler is already here.”

Julian set down his cup and looked toward the door.

Willow was here.

She wore a simple dress with no expensive jewelry, looking understated and elegant.

Julian stared at her intently, like trying to see beneath her skin. But in the end, reason won out. He respectfully greeted them, ” Timothy, Heather, please sit here. Willow, you can sit here.”

Timothy smiled cheerfully. “Willow will sit with us.”

Julian didn’t object and let the Chapmans sit wherever they liked.
